Tracy & Ryan’s Winter Olympic-Inspired Wedding in Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy

Love Story

Thirteen years ago, two lawyers met at work. Sounds boring? Think again. Tracy and Ryan turned their office romance into a globe-trotting adventure that would make any travel blogger jealous. "We met at work and have shared our life together for more than 13 years. From Boston to the Alps, our journey has always been about adventure, trust, and balance."

While most couples debate Netflix versus takeout, these two were busy conquering ski slopes and wine regions. "We’re both lawyers, but skiing, traveling, Italian cuisine and wine are what truly keep us inspired," they laugh. Because apparently, when you're not arguing cases, you're arguing about which Italian wine pairs best with fresh powder.

The proposal? Pure Ryan brilliance. "Ryan planned a full day of surprises in Boston that ended with a rooftop proposal. It was emotional, beautifully simple, and truly ‘us.’" No flash mobs, no viral stunts – just two people who knew they'd found their perfect skiing partner for life.

Plot twist: during their 16-month wedding planning marathon, they welcomed baby Roxanne. Because why have just one life-changing event when you can have two?

About Your Wedding

When Tracy and Ryan started dreaming up their perfect day, they threw the wedding rulebook right out the window – probably while skiing. "A snowy wedding among friends, with skis, good wine, great food, and a cozy, joyful atmosphere," they declared. Their vision? "A Ski Wedding inspired by the 1956 Winter Olympics in the Dolomites."

March 29, 2025, became their day of days, with 98 guests ready to witness history in the making. The itinerary read like a luxury ski resort's dream schedule: rehearsal dinner at Hotel de la Poste, symbolic ceremony at Rifugio Scoiattoli ON THE SNOW (yes, you read that right), aperitivo on a mountain terrace, and dinner at a private chalet that probably had better views than most people's screensavers.

"Snow, ski slopes, Alpine elegance, slow moments, and Italian flavors" – that's what got their hearts racing during planning. "After sharing this vision, we entrusted everything else to our planner." Smart move, because trying to coordinate a mountain wedding while raising a newborn? That's extreme sports territory.

Morning Details

Tracy and Ryan laughed in the face of tradition right from the start. "No traditional stationery – we used digital invitations." Because when you're planning a wedding on a mountain, paper isn't exactly your friend.

But wait – they weren't completely paperless rebels. "The menu was printed on textured paper in a soft blue calligraphy." Some things deserve the tactile treatment, especially when you're dealing with Michelin-starred mountain cuisine.

Their guest gift game? Absolutely legendary. "We designed a custom 'flavor bag' for guests: chocolate, Bombardino liqueur, vintage sunglasses, wool beanie, all in theme with the 1956 Winter Games." Forget Jordan almonds – these guests were leaving with a whole vintage ski vibe. Wedding rings kept things beautifully simple: "Wedding bands: simple white gold."

Nothing was chosen by chance—every touchpoint reflected a couple who cares deeply about the experience.

Photoshoot Before The Ceremony

Ready for the entrance of the century? "Tracy arrived by chairlift, Ryan on skis – an entrance we'll never forget." Let that sink in. While most brides worry about tripping on their train, Tracy was casually floating down from the mountains like some sort of wedding goddess. Ryan, meanwhile, was carving his way to the altar like he was auditioning for the next Bond film.

This isn't just a photoshoot – this is a masterclass in making your wedding completely, utterly, unforgettably YOURS. Every shot was a work of art—clean, striking, and filled with quiet emotion.

Ceremony

The ceremony was intimate magic at 7,000 feet. "A symbolic ceremony on the snow, with a view of the Cinque Torri," they share. "Officiated by a dear friend and accompanied by a live cellist" – because when you're getting married in God's cathedral, you need the soundtrack to match.

Tracy walked down the aisle to "The Swan by Saint-Saëns," a choice so elegant it probably made the mountains themselves weep. No traditional ring bearer here – "Wedding rings were placed in a moss-and-flower ring box." Nature providing the jewelry box? That's peak romance. Their philosophy? "Nothing conventional, we followed the Italian mountain spirit."

Photoshoot After The Ceremony

Fresh off their mountain-top vows, the newlyweds seamlessly transitioned into their post-ceremony shoot, "captured during the aperitivo on the terrace of Rifugio Scoiattoli." The candid joy, the mountain backdrop, the champagne bubbles – it was documentary photography meets alpine paradise.

Wedding Venue & Decor

Tracy and Ryan's design philosophy was brilliant in its restraint. "Elegant, natural, and fully in tune with the Alpine setting. Colors: white, green, and soft blues." When your venue is the Italian Dolomites, you don't compete – you complement.

Their personal touches were scattered throughout like perfectly placed powder: "flavor bags, skiing entrance, ceremony by a friend, live music, velvet Toile de Jouy chargers." Each element felt intentional, meaningful, and completely them.
The venue choice was pure poetry: "It was our very first trip together, and no other ski destination felt as unique and magical." Thirteen years later, they were saying their vows in the same place where their adventure began.

Reception

The party was everything you'd want from a mountain celebration, minus the frozen toes. First dance? "Dream a Little Dream of Me, Ella Fitzgerald."

The food situation was absolutely mouthwatering: "Private chalet dinner with a Michelin-starred chef. Menu: Alpine cuisine with a refined twist, paired with fine wines." Forget rubber chicken – these guests were dining like they'd conquered Everest. Wedding cake? They said "ciao" to tradition and hello to genius: "A tower of Sicilian cannoli instead of a traditional cake."

Their vendor dream team proved why mountain weddings need mountain pros: "Every professional went above and beyond. When weather conditions changed unexpectedly, they restructured the entire evening in just 36 hours. The outcome was seamless."

Their advice to future couples? "Live every second. The day flies, but the memories stay forever. Trusting the right team made all the difference, we felt completely present, and we wouldn’t change a thing."
