Dorm 203 at Sydney's Bounce Hostel—March 2017. Two solo backpackers from England and Canada, assigned the same room by pure chance. "For our first date, Ryan saved all his backpacker beer money and took me for a hot chocolate by the Sydney Opera House," Naina grins. "We didn't have much to give to each other, other than our presence and this is the heartbeat of our relationship to this day."

Melbourne beckoned, goodbyes were said, yet months of cross-timezone chats followed. "After Ryan's Bali adventures, we decided to move in together—mainly to save rent!" Visa drama and a Canadian lottery later, March 13, 2018 became a moving day.

August 2022 in Crete: Ryan's lighthouse proposal plan derailed when the walkway was pitch black. While he scrambled, Naina hunted for "a delicious gelato spot for dessert!" At Athinagora Square, "before the majestic backdrop of a Greek Orthodox church, he proposed, undoubtedly trading gelato plans for champagne celebrations!"

Naina & Ryan’s wedding celebration reflects their journey through three distinct events celebrating Alberta's diverse landscapes. The Canadian ceremony at Willow Lane Barn in Olds honors Ryan's Saskatchewan prairie roots. Their 'High Chai' pre-wedding event at Fish Creek Provincial Park—"the second largest urban park in Canada"—celebrates Naina's British Indian heritage with "vibrant flavours of Mumbai Street Food meet the regal charm of Bridgerton." Finally, their Hindu Punjabi ceremony in Canmore represents the mountain landscape of their chosen home: "Canmore is our 'happy place' where we often go to escape the city, recharge and reset in nature!"

The decor reflected their journey across continents and cultures, incorporating elements that honored both their British-Indian and Canadian roots.

The reception continued their celebration of love that knows no borders. Dancing under the sky, surrounded by family and friends who had witnessed their journey from opposite sides of the world to this moment, it was a time of pure joy.
