Maria and Peter’s journey began in Dubai, where their paths crossed and formed a bond leading them to one of Italy’s most breathtaking coastal villages. Their partnership makes you believe in destiny — a connection where proposal stories become treasured memories and wedding
planning becomes an adventure.
The proposal itself was a moment Maria hadn’t quite expected, yet when it happened, everything felt perfectly right. It was the beginning of planning a celebration that would bring them to the Amalfi Coast, where centuries of romance seemed to conspire in their favor.
Planning a destination wedding in seven months requires clarity and structure, and for Maria and Peter it became a smooth and rewarding journey. With just 26 guests, they created an intimate, intentional celebration that was both grand and personal.
The couple chose Villa Cimbrone — a historic residence first mentioned in the 11th century — as their venue, a location that has hosted everyone from Virginia Woolf to Winston Churchill, from Greta Garbo to Igor Stravinsky.
More recently, Christopher Nolan selected the villa’s famous
terrace for a scene in Tenet. This was the setting Maria and Peter would claim for their own love story, selected through a carefully curated venue evaluation process. “I seem to have a unique superpower—summoning rain for the most important moments of my life,” Maria laughs, recalling the Italian Air Force’s storm warning that greeted their arrival. “Our welcome dinner was scheduled for 7 p.m., and at 5, it was still pouring rain. But somehow—
thanks to my unshakable calm and optimism (and a lucky turn of events)—the skies over Ravello suddenly cleared, and we ended up spending a beautiful evening together with our friends.”
The program and guest experience remained fully consistent thanks to thoughtful planning and built-in flexibility across the schedule, with contingency options prepared for each key moment of
the event. The changing skies added atmosphere to an already memorable welcome evening. The storm’s timing became part of their story, a reminder that sometimes the best moments require a little faith and a lot of patience
On July 29th, 2025, Villa Cimbrone’s historic, light-filled spaces set the scene for peaceful preceremony hours: calm interiors, stone details, Mediterranean views, and tranquil beauty.
Wedding stationery from Sparkles Calligraphy set the tone for the day’s elegance, while the design and planning team from WOW Wedding ensured every detail aligned with the couple’s vision and the overall flow and timing of the day. The rings, chosen carefully by Maria and Peter, would soon exchange hands on the Terrace of Infinity, but first came the anticipation of getting ready.
Maria’s approach to finding her wedding dress proved that sometimes the best choices are the ones you don’t expect.
“The dress was purchased in Dubai—I went shopping with my mom and the groom’s mom, just the three of us, and it was so much fun,” she recalls. “They commented on every option without mercy, but in the end, the choice turned out to be very simple.”
The twist? The dress that became “the one” was the first dress Maria tried on—specifically, the one she had chosen to start with because she was certain it wasn’t right.
“The very first dress I tried on—the one I said, ‘This is definitely not it, so let’s start with this one’—ended up being the one we bought. Everything else paled in comparison.”
The Justin Alexander design was deceptively simple, yet somehow it highlighted Maria’s features better than any of the more elaborate options she had originally imagined.
“The design itself is quite simple, but for some reason, it highlighted my features better than anything else. Originally, I had something completely different in mind.”
The morning unfolded slowly and intimately within the historic interiors and gardens of Villa Cimbrone. Soft natural light filtered through arched windows, wrapping the space in calm anticipation and grounding Maria before the celebration began.
Her veil from Zgolaya Wedding added the final, airy touch—completing a look that felt timeless, effortless, and entirely her own.
“The most nerve-wracking moment of the wedding day was the first look,” Maria confesses. “I couldn’t wait to finally show the groom my look and hear what he thought; I never expected him to write such a touching vow, one I’m still ready to reread and listen to every other day, even six
months later :).”
That moment — when Peter first saw Maria in her wedding dress — became one of those memories that don’t fade. The anticipation, the reveal, the words exchanged between them that no one else would fully hear.
The vulnerability of standing before the person you love, fully seen and deeply known, created the emotional foundation for everything that followed.
Before the ceremony, photographer Kseniya Antonova captured Maria and Peter across the extraordinary grounds of Villa Cimbrone, where classical sculptures and sweeping Mediterranean vistas created a naturally editorial backdrop. The Amalfi Coast light — golden yet soft — wrapped
the couple as they posed on the terraces overlooking the endless blue sea, their portraits reflecting not just elegance, but quiet anticipation. Videographer Vovka Kozubskyi and content creator Anastasia Alikas documented these moments from multiple perspectives, shaping a visual
narrative of a day already destined to become part of family history. The schedule allowed space for portraits without creating pressure on the ceremony timeline.
“It’s hard to imagine a more picturesque setting for a wedding ceremony than the Terrazza dell’Infinito (Terrace of Infinity)—a name so symbolic and poetic in itself,” Maria reflects.
The terrace, like the villa, dates back to the 11th century. Its name translates literally as the Terrace of Infinity, and standing there, with the Amalfi Coast stretching in every direction and the Mediterranean extending to the horizon, you understand why. It’s a place where earth and sky seem to meet, where the view creates the sensation of standing at the edge of forever.
“As if in a fairytale, I walked toward the love of my life along the Avenue of Eternity, to Caruso performed by Luciano Pavarotti,” Maria describes. “Surrounded by our closest family and friends, in the most romantic place on the Amalfi Coast, our family was born.” Host Konstantin Novikov guided the ceremony, ensuring the sacred and the joyful coexisted in perfect balance. The sound and light team from LK Event Wedding ensured every word could be heard clearly against the coastal breeze. The ceremony timing and transitions unfolded exactly as planned, with each phase smoothly coordinated.
Newly married, Maria and Peter returned to Villa Cimbrone’s grounds with Kseniya Antonova to capture this transformed version of themselves. The anticipation seen in earlier portraits had given way to fulfillment; now, as husband and wife, they simply experienced the gardens and terraces
together.
The Amalfi Coast’s dramatic landscape provided the backdrop as the couple moved through the villa’s grounds; these moments were less about posing and more about simply being together in this place, on this day, having just promised forever.
Villa Cimbrone itself requires little decoration — its 11th-century architecture, classical sculptures, and legendary gardens provide inherent beauty that any experienced wedding designer understands how to enhance rather than compete with. The team from Lorien Wedding understood this, creating floral installations that enhanced rather than overwhelmed the venue’s
character.
“The flowers and décor were absolutely beautiful,” Maria remembers. “There’s even a small detail that makes me laugh now when I think back—on the wedding day itself, it went completely unnoticed, and the overall atmosphere felt nothing short of magical.”
The detail was intentionally designed to be discreet, supporting the overall composition rather than competing with the main visual elements.
The color palette harmonized with Villa Cimbrone’s natural tones. Weathered stone, lush greenery, and the deep blue of the Mediterranean formed the setting for every terrace. The design honored the location’s history, creating spaces that felt intimate, even amid the grandeur.
For 26 guests, the villa provided multiple spaces for different moments—the terrace for the ceremony, gardens for photographs, and intimate dining areas for the reception. Each space was designed to flow naturally into the next, creating a celebration that felt cohesive without being rigid, structured without feeling choreographed.
As evening settled over the Amalfi Coast, the celebration shifted from the ceremony’s formality to the reception’s joy. Later, Maria and Peter’s first dance—to Carlos Gardel’s “Por Una Cabeza” — set the tone for an evening remembered as much for its energy as its elegance.
“The party during dinner was so much fun—we still regularly rewatch videos of our guests dancing and all the creative surprises my friends prepared,” Maria shares. “Those were the best gifts, the kind that stay with you for a lifetime.”
The live band Boys4Road and DJ Bertolucci provided music throughout the evening, reading the energy of the intimate crowd and adjusting accordingly. With only 26 guests, the reception felt like an exceptionally curated private celebration, where everyone dances, where toasts turn into
stories, where laughter carries across the terrace and into the Italian night.
The team’s ability to match Maria and Peter’s energy—“fun, witty, but at the same time kind and refined”—made the difference between a good celebration and an unforgettable one. “The team
was amazing—we were truly happy with everyone. The photo and video team, the host, and the DJ were a special love—a perfect match for our vibe,” Maria notes.
As the evening progressed and the lights of Ravello twinkled below, the wedding cake appeared, dinner continued, and the celebration unfolded with the kind of natural rhythm that only happens when every detail has been thoughtfully planned, precisely coordinated, and seamlessly
executed, but nothing feels forced.
