Love Story
Iryna was 17 when she met Anton. He was 19. Eight years later, they finally celebrated their wedding, and now they're expecting their first baby. "Our love grew with us, and the wedding felt like the start of a new chapter," Iryna shares.
The proposal happened on June 24th, 2024, at Maslina Resort—the very place that would become their wedding venue. After riding bikes to Stari Grad for dinner, watching the sunset, and sharing pizza and wine, they stopped by the sea on their way back to look at the stars. "Anton told me about a book he was reading, and we just talked, laughed, and enjoyed the moment," Iryna recalls. "Inside the hotel, I asked him to sit and finish telling the story. He hugged me and said he had a surprise. At first I thought it was a joke or something in the room… until he said, 'It's with me right now.'"
Anton asked her to close her eyes. When she opened them, he was holding the ring. "Baby, I'm tired of carrying this around. Will you marry me?"
"I cried, laughed, and said YES," Iryna remembers.
About Your Wedding
Iryna and Anton knew from the start what they didn't want: a traditional wedding. "Not a classic wedding — but a modern, stylish, emotional wedding party combined with a three-day holiday for our guests," they explained. "We wanted everything to feel intentional, minimal, natural, and deeply connected to the beauty of Hvar."
Nine months of planning went into creating their June 15th, 2025 celebration. Their vision centered on natural minimalism with neutral tones, soft fabrics, stone textures, and organic elements that would blend with Maslina's eco-luxury architecture. The island of Hvar itself, the Mediterranean nature, and the calm atmosphere of the resort became their biggest inspirations.
"We wanted our guests to feel like they were on a holiday, not just attending an event, and that is exactly what happened," Iryna reflects. "It truly became the best days of our lives." The celebration spanned three days: a welcome event at A-Bay, the main ceremony and reception in the beach and pool area among ancient olive trees, and an after-party that turned into a midnight pool plunge—still in their wedding outfits.
Bride Getting Ready
Iryna's wedding morning unfolded at Villa Uvala, a peaceful, sun-filled private villa at Maslina Resort. Her Milla Nova dress was absolutely stunning—the kind of gown that makes you stop and stare. "It took me just one day to choose it, and the tailoring took around four months," she remembers. She paired it with delicate Jennifer Behr pearl accessories and Jimmy Choo shoes.
For her bouquet, she chose something small and elegant: white orchids. "Minimal, timeless, and perfectly aligned with our modern aesthetic."
No bridesmaids joined her—just her closest girlfriends. "We had a professional hair & makeup team, music, photos, lunch together, and the most relaxed, joyful morning," she shares.
Groom Getting Ready
Anton spent his morning completely differently—and it suited him perfectly. Pool time, sunshine, and his best friends at Maslina Resort. He got ready in the resort's stunning lobby area, which Iryna calls "the most amazing lobby."
His tuxedo from The Frankie Shop complemented the wedding's sophisticated aesthetic beautifully.
Ceremony
The ceremony took place by the sea at Maslina Resort, with the Adriatic sparkling behind them and ancient olive trees creating a natural frame. As Rihanna's "Diamonds" played, Iryna walked down the aisle.
Their best friend Daniil served as ring bearer. Iryna's father watched on Zoom from afar, making the moment bittersweet and beautiful.
"My husband's vows—I cried through every word," Iryna says of the moment she'll never forget.
Right after the ceremony, they poured a champagne tower together. "It felt playful, elegant, and celebratory all at once," Iryna recalls.
Photoshoot After The Ceremony
Andrew Bayda and Roman Rudakov captured the newlyweds in two locations: by the sea (timeless and romantic) and around the hotel's minimal, natural architecture. Both spots reflected their style perfectly—organic, elegant, connected to Hvar's beauty.
Wedding Venue & Decor
Choosing Maslina Resort wasn't just about finding a beautiful venue. "Maslina Resort is where Anton proposed," Iryna shares. "Choosing it as our wedding venue felt symbolic, emotional, and perfect." The color palette stayed sophisticated and natural: beige, champagne, white, black, and soft neutral tones.
Reception
Their first dance as newlyweds was to Teddy Swims' "Lose Control."
The food became one of the day's unexpected highlights. "We really wanted our guests to experience Croatian cuisine, so we served a mix of local delicacies, canapés, and a beautifully curated dinner menu," Iryna explains. Appetizers came family-style, creating warmth and conversation. For the main course, guests chose between fish or meat. "We flew to Croatia a month before the wedding for a full tasting, and it was absolutely worth it—everything turned out even better than we imagined."
The bar featured Hvar wines, liqueurs, and signature cocktails. The clear winner? The Basil Smash—"Anton's all-time favourite cocktail and the unofficial star of the bar menu."
Stories by Lea created three cake flavors: Triple Choc (cocoa cake with triple dark-milk-white chocolate), Blueberry Bomb (cocoa cake with blueberry ganache, fresh cottage cheese cream, and blueberry curd), and Breakfast in Bed (coconut cake with peanuts, banana cream, peanut cream, and raspberries).
Speeches became the heart of the reception. "In our culture, weddings are filled with speeches—long, heartfelt, emotional speeches. It's one of the traditions we both love the most," Iryna explains. "Throughout the evening, our friends and family shared stories, memories, jokes, and wishes for our future. We laughed, cried, and felt incredibly loved. Those moments became some of the most meaningful parts of the entire celebration."
Tradition showed up in the best ways. Iryna threw her bouquet to screaming, cheering guests. Later, they cut their cake as fireworks exploded behind them. "That moment felt completely magical, like time stopped for a second," she remembers.
Then came the after-party. "We had an amazing after-party that honestly felt like a whole event on its own," Iryna shares. "We brought in a hip-hop DJ because that's Anton's favorite music, and the energy was incredible—everyone was dancing like crazy."
Around midnight, the team brought out late-night snacks. Eventually, still in their wedding outfits, everyone migrated toward the pool. "We were eating burgers and gulaš with our friends. It was chaotic, funny, and somehow perfect," Iryna laughs. "And of course—the grand finale—we ended up jumping into the pool in our wedding outfits."
“All of our vendors were incredible — professional, talented, and fully aligned with our vision. The atmosphere, energy, and execution were flawless,” the couple shares. "But the biggest gratitude goes to our planner, Tamara, who made the entire experience stress-free and magical. She coordinated every detail, guided us gently through the entire process, and created a celebration that was far beyond anything we could have imagined. We will be forever grateful."
