Frenzita and Abner's love story started exactly where you'd least expect it – on a casual trip to Goa with mutual friends. What began as pure friendship slowly evolved into something much deeper. "Slowly but surely, that friendship blossomed into something deeper, turning into the love we celebrate todaн," Frenzita tells us. "It feels like the most natural, beautiful journey from best friends to soulmates."

The proposal was pure magic, overlooking the iconic Dubai Eye. "It was a surprise proposal, overlooking the Dubai Eye. I had come to the location because it was supposed to be my sisters birthday dinner," Frenzita recalls. Talk about turning a family dinner into the most romantic night of your life!

About Your Wedding

Living in Dubai while planning a wedding back home in Mumbai? That's dedication right there. The couple spent over a year meticulously planning their celebration, taking multiple trips to ensure every detail was spot-on. What was meant to be an intimate gathering of 600 guests turned into a joyous celebration of over 850 loved ones – clearly, this couple knows how to bring people together.

"We wanted our wedding to feel timeless, something we’d look back on with fondness for years to come. It was really important to us to honor our culture and keep things personal, rather than chasing every trend," Frenzita explains. Their vision was clear: "I wanted every detail to feel meaningful, with vibrant touches that reflected our story, heartfelt personal elements, and our closest family members playing special roles that made the day even more intimate and unforgettable."

Morning Details

Here's where the personal touches really started shining. Since both Frenzita and Abner work in marketing, they decided to tackle their wedding invitations themselves. "We designed the invites together, just the two of us. Since we both work in marketing, we thought, why not roll up our sleeves and make it something truly us? It was such a fun way to bring our personalities into the wedding right from the start," they tell us.

Their wedding rings tell their own love story too. The couple chose to customize them with a message that perfectly captured their relationship: We picked out our rings together and had them customized with a little message, “hey, I love you.” We added the hey before I love you because that’s how we always started our sentences, back when we used to text non-stop. It’s like a tiny love note from those early days, now etched into something we’ll wear forever," Frenzita explains. Honestly, could this be any cuter?

Bride Getting Ready

Getting ready in your childhood bedroom? Now that's sentimental in the best way. "I got ready at home, in the room I grew up in and honestly, there was nowhere else I could've imagined doing it. Surrounded by all those memories, it felt comforting and special, like the perfect place to begin this next chapter," Frenzita shares.

Her dress story is proof that family input can work wonders. What started as a plan for a ready-made gown became something uniquely hers with help from her siblings. "The original plan was to go with a ready-made dress. I had a clear vision in mind: a two-layered look where I could take off the top layer after the nuptials. I actually found a dress that matched the idea pretty closely, but something didn’t feel quite right," Frenzita explains. "That’s when my amazing siblings jumped in with their ideas, and our lovely seamstress was all in for the tweaks. We added lace sleeves, reworked how the second layer would come off, sprinkled in some extra embroidery… and suddenly, it was perfect. It felt like me, wrapped in love and creativity from the people who know me best."

The getting ready photoshoot happened right at home and in the garden – no fancy hotel rooms needed when you've got childhood memories and family love surrounding you.

Groom Getting Ready

Abner kept things cozy too, getting ready at home surrounded by family and his groomsmen. The vibe was relaxed and full of laughter – exactly what you want before walking into the biggest day of your life. Both bride and groom choosing to prep at their family homes? That's the kind of groundedness we love to see.

First Look

Their first look timing was perfect – just intimate enough to feel special. "Our first look happened just before we walked into the church for the nuptials. We stole a few quiet minutes away from all the excitement, just the two of us, to take each other in and soak up the magic of the day. It was calm and full of love. And the sweetest part? Our closest friends were cheering us on from afar, adding even more love to the moment," Frenzita describes.

Those quiet moments before sharing their joy with 850+ guests gave them exactly what they needed – a chance to connect privately before the beautiful chaos began.

Photoshoot Before The Ceremony

Their pre-ceremony photoshoot location was chosen with intention. "We headed to a cozy café we've passed by and visited countless times, capturing the charm of the area we've often wandered through together," they explain.

The ceremony venue was a dream come true – a beautiful banquet lawn that perfectly matched their vision. "The ceremony took place at a beautiful banquet lawn, we wanted something lush and green, open to the sky, with plenty of space for all the people we love. It had a big dance floor (a must!), and it was perfect for our big, joy-filled celebration," the couple shares.

The ceremony was rich with meaningful traditions that honored Frenzita's Mangalorean Catholic heritage. She wore a classic white gown for the first look, then changed into a traditional red saree for the second look.

One of the most touching moments involved both families: "We also included a few heartfelt traditions that meant so much to us. One was where the mother of the bride places a gold chain or ring on the groom, a quiet but powerful blessing. Another was the “giving of the bride,” where my family spoke about raising me with love and shared their hopes that I’d be loved just as deeply, if not more, in my new home. Then his family welcomed me with open arms, promising to treat me like a daughter. It was emotional, and full of love from both sides."

But perhaps the most unforgettable moment was the surprise that awaited Frenzita during her grand entrance: "One of the moments I’ll never forget was when I re-entered the venue in my red saree (a traditional Mangalorean Catholic attire). He was standing at the end of the aisle, singing Lady in Red, and my heart just melted. Walking down to him, surrounded by my mum, his mum, our sisters, and the closest women in our lives, it felt like pure magic. I had tears!"

Following the ceremony, the couple took advantage of the stunning venue for their post-ceremony portraits. "After the ceremony, we wandered around the lawns with The Photo Store capturing every moment. The aisle had been beautifully decorated by the vendor, and everywhere we looked there were lush, green spots that made for the perfect backdrop," they share.

Wedding Venue & Decor

The color palette was absolutely dreamy and perfectly executed. "Our wedding color palette was centered around a rich, romantic merlot, paired with soft touches of baby pink, creamy neutrals, and fresh greens. It created the dreamiest balance, bold and elegant, yet gentle and whimsical," Frenzita describes.

This sophisticated color combination created the perfect backdrop for their timeless celebration, balancing richness with softness in a way that felt both elegant and approachable.

Reception

Their reception kicked off with a first dance that was equal parts heartfelt and hilariously imperfect. "Our first dance was to Biblical by Calum Scott, such a powerful, emotional song that really captured how we felt. A close friend helped us with the choreography, which made the whole process so much fun and meaningful," Frenzita shares with a laugh. "While we thought we had it all down, on the big day, we totally blanked on a few steps! So we just laughed, improvised, and danced through it until we caught up with the music.”

But the reception had even more magical moments in store. "There were so many special moments from the wedding that we'll always hold close. One of the most heartwarming was when my mum and his dad sang a Konkani song (our mother tongue) that's dear to both our cultures. As they sang, I danced with my dad and he danced with his mum, it was such a beautiful coming together of families and traditions," Frenzita recalls.

And just when you think it couldn't get any better, Frenzita had a surprise up her sleeve: "Another unforgettable moment was the surprise dance I did for him! What started as a solo turned into a full-on performance when all our cousins and friends jumped in. We had on shades, waved pompoms, and brought all the energy. It was joyful, a little chaotic in the best way, and full of love and laughter, one of those memories that'll make us smile forever." Picture this: what begins as a sweet solo dance for the groom suddenly becomes an impromptu flash mob with sunglasses and pompoms. If that doesn't sum up the pure joy of this celebration, we don't know what does!

And behind all this magic? Some seriously impressive planning skills. "We really tried to be as detailed as possible with the planning, I made so many Excel sheets, to-do lists, presentations, and group chats that by the end, our closest friends had started calling me the project manager! It was definitely a lot of work (like, a lot), but on the day itself, when everything flowed smoothly and we actually managed to fit in all our activities on time, it felt so incredibly worth it," Frenzita reflects.

Frenzita and Abner's wedding proves that the best celebrations happen when you blend heartfelt traditions with personal touches, surround yourselves with people who truly love you, and remember to laugh when things don't go exactly as planned. From that friendship in Goa to a spectacular Mumbai celebration, their love story reminds us that sometimes the most lasting relationships grow from the strongest foundations.
