Christa and Chris's journey brought them from Atlanta to the shores of Lake Como,where they would celebrate their love with 75 of their closest friends and family. Their connection runs deep, and when Chris proposed, it marked the beginning of a year-long journey to create their dream Italian wedding.
About Your Wedding
From the serene lakefront ceremony to the beautifully styled reception, every detail reflected their vision of a romantic Italian wedding. "The ceremony florals were artfully shaped to mirror the distinctive mountain line that frames the view from the villa," Christa shares. "This powerful visual connection between us and the landscape was very important for us."
The design philosophy evolved beautifully throughout the day. "The ceremony had a warm, romantic palette drawn from the hues of a Lake Como sunset - soft peach, coral, amber and rose," the bride explains. "This design choice anchored the ceremony in its setting, making the environment feel like an integral part of the celebration. For the dinner reception, the concept softened into a wilder, more organic expression. Every detail was chosen to reflect our deep appreciation for the natural beauty of Lake Como."
Morning Details
The day began with exquisite attention to detail, setting the tone for the romantic celebration ahead. The couple's beautiful invitations and stationery were designed by the talented team at Fabula Picta design, perfectly capturing the essence of their Lake Como vision before guests even arrived.
Bride Getting Ready
Christa's bridal preparations were nothing short of spectacular, beginning with intimate moments at Villa Cipressi Hotel. "We took some tender boudoir photos in my Voir bridal robe in the garden suite of the Villa Cipressi Hotel," she recalls. "For my bridal portraits, we went to the iconic Wisteria Gate."
But the true showstopper was her gown—a couture creation by Galia Lahav that transformed throughout the day. "My wedding dress was truly a masterpiece that combined elegance, romance, and modern versatility," Christa says with evident delight. "What I loved most was that it wasn't just one look, but three beautiful bridal moments in one."
She describes each transformation with enthusiasm: "For the ceremony, I wore a long-sleeved lace top that was delicately embroidered and sheer, adding such a sense of timeless grace and modesty. The voluminous tulle overskirt flowed like a cloud as I walked down the aisle - it felt so dramatic and romantic. Later, for the boat ride, I removed the overskirt and revealed the sleek, form-fitting mermaid silhouette underneath. Before dinner, I took off the lace top as well, leaving a modern, elegant gown that let me move freely and dance the night away. It was incredible how one dress could transform so beautifully throughout the day."
Her bridal bouquet was equally stunning, featuring only orchids and beautifully created by renowned florist Riccardo Ciceri. The team at Babeland Bridal handled hair and makeup, ensuring Christa looked flawless from the first photograph to the last dance.
Groom Getting Ready
Chris prepared for the big day at the elegant Hotel Villa Cipressi, surrounded by his closest friends. The anticipation built as he readied himself to see his bride for the first time at the altar—a decision that would make their ceremony moment even more powerful.
Ceremony
The ceremony was nothing short of breathtaking. Set in the gardens of Villa Cipressi, the location offered magical views of Lake Como that seemed almost too beautiful to be real. The thoughtful design choices made the natural setting an integral part of the celebration, with ceremony florals deliberately shaped to echo the mountain line visible from the villa.
Como Lake Celebrant officiated the intimate ceremony, while the elegant sounds of Krystal Kuartet added to the romantic atmosphere. The warm sunset palette of soft peach, coral, amber and rose washed through the floral arrangements, creating depth and atmosphere that perfectly complemented the golden hour light dancing across the lake.
Photoshoot After The Ceremony
The post-ceremony photo session was truly unforgettable. "One of the most unforgettable moments of the day was our private boat ride across Lake Como, with breathtaking views of Bellagio and the mountains all around us," Christa remembers. "The photos turned out absolutely stunning!"
Cadenazzi Boats provided the vessel for this romantic interlude, allowing the newlyweds to drink in the beauty of their surroundings while we captured stunning images against the dramatic Alpine backdrop. "After the boat ride, we continued with a few portraits at the famous Wisteria Gate and in the villa's enchanting gardens," the bride adds. Each location offered its own unique magic, from the iconic wisteria-draped archway to the villa's perfectly manicured gardens.
Wedding Venue & Decor
Villa Cipressi provided the perfect canvas for Christa and Chris's vision, and Vinova Events and Love on Lake Como brought that vision to life with impeccable execution. The decor evolution from ceremony to reception told a complete story.
"The ceremony had a warm, romantic palette drawn from the hues of a Lake Como sunset - soft peach, coral, amber and rose - washed through the arrangements, adding a sense of depth and atmosphere to the scene," Christa explains. The transition to dinner was seamless yet transformative: "The dinner decor featured soft moss accents, lush greenery, flowing fabric drapery on the tables, and warm candlelight - creating an enchanting and intimate mood that perfectly complemented the historic charm of Villa Cipressi."
The reception design philosophy embraced organic beauty. "The concept softened into a wilder, more organic expression," the bride describes. "Tables were styled to feel like a quiet corner of an untouched garden - lush moss bases gave way to clusters of delicate florals in blush, ivory and soft green tones. Natural wood chairs added an understated elegance, harmonizing with the surrounding textures and creating a sense of effortless authenticity."
Riccardo Ciceri's floral artistry brought this vision to life, while Marry and Lilo's flatlay props added those perfect finishing touches to the tablescapes.
Reception
The reception unfolded in the romantic ambiance created by candlelight, lush florals, and the historic beauty of Villa Cipressi. Rather than a traditional first dance, Christa and Chris chose to let the evening flow naturally, allowing their guests to celebrate freely while Krystal Kuartet provided elegant musical entertainment.
