Peyton and Michael's story began in a pulsating Miami nightclub, where a serendipitous introduction by a mutual friend ignited an immediate bond. While the spark was evident, life threw a curveball, causing their first date to be delayed. But Michael's relentless charm won Peyton over, turning their first date into what felt like a destined reunion. Fast forward, and they've now been inseparable for six beautiful years. The proposal, a masterclass in surprises, took place at a North Carolina vineyard. Michael artfully disguised the event as a birthday celebration, complete with a surprise picnic and a photographer in disguise. The result? A genuinely taken-aback Peyton and a proposal she never saw coming.

“The vision of my wedding started with the inspiration of an English garden. Living in the south I decided to merge the English garden vision with Gone with the Wind. The goal was to showcase florals and elegance.”, remembers Peyton.

“Collaborating with our videographer, Courtney, transformed our wedding day vision. She infused it with creative concepts that elevated our celebration to a cinematic level thanks to her innovative approach. She is the reason I had three wedding looks and changed before my exit.”

Morning details

The attention to detail was palpable as Peyton and Michael prepped for their big day. Their wedding invitations, crafted with precision by Highway Press, set the stage for the elegant affair. Peyton’s wedding ring was meticulously selected to accentuate, yet not overshadow, her uniquely customized engagement ring which bore a vintage-inspired filigree gold band.

Jewelry played a poignant role for Peyton. Alongside her pearl Jimmy Choo shoes, she adorned herself with a pearl bracelet, a symbolic nod to both her favored jewelry and her birthstone. Furthermore, in keeping with tradition, she wore her grandmother's wedding band as her 'something borrowed'.

Their wedding stationery, which encompassed invitations, menu cards, and ceremony programs, exuded sophistication and cohesion in design.

The tale of our bride's dress selection is one of fate. Crafted by Anne Barge, the “Dream Weaver” dress was found at Hayden Olivia Bridal in Charlotte after visiting four stores. Complementing her dress, she donned a floral veil, Jimmy Choo pearl heels, floral crystal earrings, and significant heirlooms including her grandmother's ring. A cherished blue cameo pin, reminiscent of her husband's first gift, also found its way onto their wedding cake.

Her bouquet, a dreamy assembly of calla lilies by Amy from Fantasy in Flowers, bore a charm honoring passed family members. The day was a blend of traditions, memories, and hopeful tomorrows.

For Michael, the wedding day began in style, draped in a meticulously tailored tuxedo designed by Vera Wang, courtesy of Men’s Warehouse. The elegance of his attire was matched by the grandeur of the Timuquana County Club, which served as the backdrop for his getting-ready photoshoot. In these cherished moments leading up to the ceremony, he was surrounded by his pillars of strength: his dad, brothers, and loyal groomsmen, all sharing in the anticipation and excitement of the day ahead.

“A key moment that I will always remember is our first look and vow reading. Seeing my husband's reactions and hearing his words were beyond special to me.”

Photoshoot before the ceremony

“I wanted photos that showcased the “gone with the wind” mansion feeling which came through at the front driveway with the big beautiful columns we could use. I also wanted backdrop photos which were taken on the back porch. I really wanted photos that felt editorial and similar to what the bridal designers have been doing for their seasonal shoots.”

Ceremony

“I couldn’t believe how handsome he was. My husband wanted to make sure he had unique details from our life together so he wore cuff links I bought him during our trip to Africa.”, Peyton remembers.

“My husband's aunt delivered a touching reading of "The Art of Marriage," a meaningful way to involve family and reflect on the essence of our union. Additionally, we chose an acoustic rendition of Blink 182 for our recession song, a nostalgic nod to our younger days, making it both unique and deeply sentimental.”

“We opted for a photo session on the back lawn near the water following the ceremony. The serene backdrop provided an intimate setting, capturing the essence of our union and the beauty of nature in perfect harmony. The location not only offered picturesque views but also symbolized tranquility and new beginnings for our shared journey ahead.”

Wedding Venue & Decor

“Selecting the venue was deeply rooted in nostalgia. I spent countless childhood days at Timuquana Country Club, where I learned the essence of victory and enjoyed sun-drenched summer afternoons. Returning to this cherished place to exchange vows with my husband felt like a full-circle moment, making it the natural choice for our special day.”

The style of the wedding was very traditional. Peyton wanted there to be a lot of decorations and moments that felt picturesque but also true to who they were as a couple. So she also brought in concepts of the wedding that were unique to them. Peyton loves vintage jewelry and pearls, so she had pearl strands tied into the florals. They also had their cake decorated with a vintage cameo from a ring Michael gave her from their first big trip.

Their color theme beautifully blended soft blushes with earthy neutrals. Instead of committing to a single shade of pink, they opted for a spectrum that reflected the lively spirit of spring.

Reception

The ambiance of the reception was accentuated by the couple's heartfelt first dance, swaying to the harmonious tunes of "Lifetime" by Justin Bieber.
The crowning touch of the evening was the wedding cake, masterfully crafted by Crème de la coco, symbolizing the sweet finale to their joyous celebration.
