An Intimate Spanish Affair: Vibhuti & Sachin's 15-Guest Destination Wedding at Gran Villa Rosa

Love Story

Their story began with an unlikely matchmaker – Sachin's mom! At a wedding in Cancun, Mexico, in February 2024, while Vibhuti and Sachin didn't initially connect, Sachin's mother had other plans. She approached Vibhuti at one of the events, charming her with charismatic conversation and dancing the night away.

Though they didn't spark up a conversation in Cancun, Sachin left an impression. After the wedding, Vibhuti reached out, and their connection was instant. "Once we started talking, we quickly moved from texts to video chats to frequent visits between Dallas and Toronto," they shared. “This relationship was meant to be” and just six months later, Sachin was ready to propose.

The proposal was full of surprises. Sachin told Vibhuti he couldn’t come to Toronto for her birthday—then secretly arrived two days early to plan everything. The night before, he showed up at her door disguised as an “Uber Eats delivery.” The next day, after a “birthday” mani-pedi, he suggested fall photos at Evergreen Brickworks. As Vibhuti posed, Sachin knelt behind her with the ring. She said yes—only to discover another surprise: a dinner celebration with both families, including his, who had flown in from Dallas.

About Your Wedding

-We were captivated by how Vibhuti and Sachin reimagined what an Indian wedding could be. "Indian weddings are usually synonymous with massive multi-day affairs and guest lists of hundreds of people, but we decided that for our wedding we really wanted to make it a small, intimate affair with just our closest family members - just 15 people total!" they explained.

The guest list was carefully curated: immediate families plus Sachin's cousin, aunt, and uncle – the very people through whom they met. "We are both very close to our immediate families and live in different cities, and we really wanted the wedding festivities to be an opportunity for our family members to get to know one another and build lasting relationships. This goal was at the centre of all our wedding decisions."

The celebration spanned four glorious days across two breathtaking Spanish venues. Days 1 and 2 – the Haldi ceremony and Mehndi night – took place at Masia Nur in Sitges, a boutique Mediterranean-style villa nestled in the hills. Days 3 and 4 – the pre-wedding dinner and wedding ceremony – unfolded at Gran Villa Rosa, a luxury resort with stunning Moorish architectural elements.

Morning Details

The rings held special significance for both of them. Vibhuti's wedding ring was part of a customized stack designed to fit perfectly with her engagement ring. Sachin had enlisted Vibhuti's sister's help when shopping for the engagement ring, getting a sense of her preferences before finding a stunning piece from Everett, a custom jewelry designer in LA. He worked with owner and designer Ali Nelson to customize it specifically for Vibhuti. Later, they found the perfect wedding band to stack with it, working again with Ali to ensure a flawless fit.

For Sachin, the question was simple: "What will look good with his watches?" They opted for a platinum band with variety in finish – both matte and shiny. After extensive searching online and trying many rings, he found the perfect one at a local jeweler right in his own neighborhood. "When you know, you know," they said with a smile.

Bride Getting Ready

We watched as Vibhuti prepared in the Sultan Suite at Gran Villa Rosa – a stunning Moroccan-inspired room filled with warm colors and exquisite details. The space itself felt like a work of art, providing the perfect backdrop for those precious getting-ready moments.

Vibhuti's wedding attire had an equally beautiful story. She had traveled to India to visit her grandmother and aunt, and did all her wedding shopping there. "They bought most of her outfits from one store in a local market - it was love at first sight for many of these stunning outfits!" In just a few days, she finalized outfits, matching jewelry, and matching bangles for three wedding events.

The most remarkable part? "Vibhuti was able to find Sachin's wedding outfit during the same trip! She found a white outfit that was exactly what he was looking for and that would be a perfect complement to her dress!" For the reception, Sachin knew he wanted a classic black tuxedo, which worked beautifully with Vibhuti's evening-gown style lengha.

The photographer captured elegant bridal portraits alongside sweet moments with her two sisters, and witnessed the emotional first look with her father – such a beautiful, calm, and emotional start to the day.

Groom Getting Ready

Sachin's getting-ready moments took place in the Music Room, where they photographed one of the most touching pre-ceremony moments. His parents lovingly helped him drape the traditional wedding shawl over his shoulder – a meaningful ritual before the ceremony that honored their cultural heritage.

The space, the light, the emotion – everything came together to create images that captured not just how Sachin looked, but how he felt in those anticipatory moments before seeing his bride.

First Look

The first look took place at the grand entrance of Gran Villa Rosa, and the timing was nothing short of magical. Soft morning sun bathed the couple in golden light, streaming through elegant columns and wrapping them in warmth and serenity – a perfect moment to begin their wedding day.

For Sachin, the moment was overwhelming in the best way. "Wow," he remembered. "When I turned around during our first look and saw her, I was blown away with how beautiful she looked. She picked out so many little details in her jewelry, her outfit, and her makeup, and with all the emotions of the day building up in this moment, the tears flowed freely - I get to marry this gorgeous woman and spend the rest of my life with her!"

They both agreed it was the key moment they'd remember forever. "The first look was definitely a precious moment for both of us. There was so much anticipation in the days leading up to the wedding. We were running in all directions to ensure our guests were taken care of and that things were unfolding as we hoped. In that moment, though, time just stopped and it brought us back to what this was all about: how happy, grateful and excited we were to be taking this important and sacred next step in our relationship."

Ceremony

At noon, the ceremony began inside the villa's Entrance Hall. The space was adorned with beautiful décor as a Hindu priest conducted the traditional ceremony, blending the ancient rituals with the couple's personal touches.

Vibhuti had woven several meaningful elements into the day. In her bouquet, she included a paper origami flower that Sachin made on their very first date. "Shout out to sweet Elisa at Flors Bertran for making this happen without compromising the beauty of the bouquet. She is amazing!"

Another surprise waited in Vibhuti's wedding entrance music. During Sachin's perfect proposal, he had planned to record everything. Unfortunately, a saxophonist was practicing nearby (and not very well), drowning out the audio. "I included a short clip of that right at the beginning of my wedding entrance music, which he recognized instantly," Vibhuti shared with a laugh.

The ceremony was intimate, meaningful, and filled with the love of their closest family members – exactly as they had envisioned.

Photoshoot After The Ceremony

Photographers worked with the couple to capture the stunning grounds of Gran Villa Rosa before the ceremony began. The venue offered endless beautiful spots, each more photogenic than the last.

"We followed Nikita & Lisa's lead on these! They have such a great vision for photos and immaculate attention to detail, and the venues had so many beautiful spots!" the couple shared. "There were multiple moments where Lisa came by to reposition my hair for a particular shot to get the look just right." What touched them most was the personal connection. "As talented as they are, they were also so open and eager to learn about all our cultural traditions. They did their homework beforehand and were curious and open to learning even more throughout all the days of the ceremony. Because the wedding party was so small, they got to know each and every one of our guests and formed their own personal connection with them. The result is photos that are natural, joyful and ones we will cherish and happily look back to for a lifetime!"

Reception

With such an intimate group, the couple wasn't sure how the reception would unfold. They needn't have worried. "Each and every person brought their A-game and loads of energy," they recalled.

The evening was packed with unforgettable performances: a hilarious skit by Vibhuti's sisters and brothers-in-law retelling the couple's love story, a mother-son dance that turned into a performance recounting Sachin's search for love, and iconic dance performances, including Sachin's sister and mom dancing to Beyoncé (the bride's favorite).

The parents gave heartfelt speeches, and Vibhuti and Sachin took time to recount the impact each person had made in their lives. "As our amazing dinner was closing out, Sachin’s brother grabbed everyone to get up to the dance floor, and everyone (even Vibhuti’s father, who NEVER dances) got up to dance the night away!"

The first dance held special significance. Vibhuti initially didn't even want one, "thinking it might be really awkward with such a small group at the wedding." But Sachin convinced her it would be worthwhile, and once they started planning, she got completely into it. They created a unique musical journey: starting with "This Year (Blessing)" by Victor Thompson – "which we felt really captured how blessed we felt to find each other and how everything just seemed to fall in place for us." They transitioned to Kris Kross Amsterdam's version of "Wherever, Whenever" to speed up the tempo, then finished with a remix of Ed Sheeran's "Shape of You" blended with a bhangra song by Diljit Dosanjh.

The biggest surprise? "Vibhuti sent the DJ a last-minute edit of their first dance music and did a solo performance of 'Sajna' for Sachin that she had been secretly preparing!"

The personal touches extended to the guest gifts too. Sachin prepared gift bags with walkie talkies and booklets filled with crossword puzzles and activities. The theme? Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps from Zootopia. "We really identify with their couple energy, and this was one of the first movies we watched together!"

Even Sachin's socks at the reception told a story – they featured pictures of his dog who couldn't make the international trip. "They were the same socks he wore at our proposal!"
