A Fairytale by the Water: Tayler and Jamie's Romantic Wedding at Groveland Estate

In the bustling city of Vancouver, fate intervened when a mutual friend introduced Tayler and Jamie. Little did they know that this chance encounter would spark a whirlwind romance that would take them around the world. "As soon as we met we took a trip to Bali and have been together every day since!" Tayler exclaimed, her eyes sparkling with joy. Their love story is one of adventure and spontaneity, with memorable trips to Santorini, Bora Bora, Hawaii, Tuscany, and Paris.

After 2.5 years of globe-trotting and falling deeper in love, Jamie decided it was time to make it official. He whisked Tayler away to the paradise of Bora Bora for what she thought was a simple beach photoshoot. "He surprised me with a private helicopter, 2 pilots, and a photographer who took us to a private island that is HEART shaped!" Tayler recounted, still in disbelief. "When we were done we walked back and they had set up a floral heart with champagne and everything! He proposed to me, it was the most magical day in my entire life, something out of a movie."

Tayler and Jamie's vision for their wedding was clear from the start. "We wanted it to be the epitome of ROMANCE and LOVE with a hint of princess fairytale," they shared.

With the help of Shing Weddings, they spent a year meticulously planning every detail of their dream day. The couple chose West Vancouver as their wedding destination, splitting their celebration between the picturesque Groveland Estate and the elegant Vancouver Club. With 100 of their closest friends and family in attendance, Tayler and Jamie's wedding was an intimate affair filled with personal touches and romantic moments.

The style of their wedding was a perfect blend of natural beauty and elegant romance. "The style for our ceremony was at a beautiful estate by a private lake in the back outside area," Tayler explained. "With lots of cream/white floral, a trio (harp, etc), and 100 of our closest friends and family." The reception took the romance up a notch. "Our reception was romantic, candlelit, hanging roses, live music, and a beautiful seafood dinner," the bride added.

When asked about their inspiration during the planning process, the couple revealed, "Both of our styles put together really inspired us to choose all of our details. We researched many different weddings and decor styles before coming up with our own. This collaborative approach resulted in a celebration that was uniquely theirs, combining elements that reflected both of their personalities and their shared love story.

Morning details

The morning of the wedding was a flurry of excitement and anticipation. The couple's attention to detail was evident in every aspect of their celebration, starting with their invitations designed by Making Memories Company.

"We had both the rings custom made by our jeweller," Jamie explained, showcasing their commitment to personalization. The couple also exchanged heartfelt gifts on their wedding day. "Jamie gifted me a diamond custom-made tennis bracelet, diamond necklace, and a white Chanel bag for the wedding!" Tayler gushed. "I gifted him Cartier cufflinks, engraved!"

As a nod to their love for travel, the couple had custom travel tags placed on everyone's place settings. "We travel so much, so this giveaway fitted us the most!" they explained.

Tayler's journey to find the perfect dress took her all the way to New York City. "We flew to NYC to go to Kleinfelds and my husband purchased the most beautiful PNINA TORNAI wedding dress for me. Just stunning!" she recalled. The dress required four appointments in one week to customize it to Tayler's exact specifications.

To complete her bridal look, Tayler chose a Pnina Tornai cathedral veil and Jimmy Choo shoes. Her bridesmaids wore custom-fitted dresses that complemented the overall aesthetic of the wedding. The bride's bouquet, crafted by Dushan Floral Company, was the perfect finishing touch to her ensemble.

Not to be outdone, Jamie looked dashing in a custom-made Tom Ford suit. He prepared for the big day surrounded by his groomsmen at the Groveland Estate, ensuring he looked his best for the moment he would see his bride.

First Look

In a departure from tradition, Tayler and Jamie decided against a first look. "We wanted it to be special with me walking down the aisle to Jamie!" Tayler explained. This decision only heightened the anticipation and emotion of their ceremony.

When asked about Jamie's reaction upon seeing Tayler for the first time, he was described as "Speechless and Stunning. He had never seen anything so beautiful in his entire life!"

Photoshoot before the ceremony

Before the ceremony, the newlyweds and their wedding party took advantage of their stunning surroundings for some photos. "Bride & Bridesmaids - we chose The Vancouver Club in the Georgian Room as it is timeless, all white/creams and beautiful finish's. Classic!" Tayler explained. "For the Groom & Groomsmen we chose Groveland estate, very classy and perfect for their look!"

Ceremony

The ceremony took place at the breathtaking Groveland Estate, set against the backdrop of a private lake on a beautiful sunny day. As Tayler made her way down the aisle, a string trio played Elvis Presley's "Can't Help Falling In Love," creating a magical atmosphere.

The couple's blended family played a significant role in the ceremony. "My beautiful step children, flower girl London and 3 junior bridesmaids Mila, Ava and Harmony,” were part of the procession, Tayler said proudly. "My step son was the ring bearer, Axl."

One of the most memorable moments came during the exchange of vows. "My husband Jamie wrote a song and played it on a acoustic guitar in the middle of his vows," Tayler recalled, her voice filled with emotion. "It was so beautiful and amazing!"

After exchanging their vows, Tayler and Jamie took advantage of their stunning surroundings to capture the first moments of their new life together. "For Jamie and I, we chose Groveland Estate for our one-on-one photos after our reception," Tayler shared, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "The venue is absolutely stunning, with white beautiful pillars, a classic beautiful estate, and a picturesque outdoor space."

Wedding Venue & Decor

Their dream of a “beautiful romance” was woven into the very fabric of their wedding. The venue, bathed in a soft palette of cream, white, and gold, exuded an ethereal elegance. “The locations we chose embodied that 100%,” the couple added.

"We personalized our wedding gift box, our barcode for photos, our decor, our travel tag giveaways, our first dance wedding song, all of our musical acts we chose all the songs," the couple shared, emphasizing their attention to detail.

Reception

The reception at The Vancouver Club was a celebration of love, music, and fine dining. "A beautiful seafood buffet at The Vancouver Club for reception," Tayler described. "And we had a cocktail reception with a live saxophone player, open bar and hors d'oeuvre."

The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the couple's first dance. "We wrote, sang and recorded a song together and danced to it for our first dance!" they revealed excitedly. "It was MAGICAL. The song is called "The One"."

To cap off the perfect day, the couple cut into a stunning cake created by The Cake & The Giraffe, surrounded by their loved ones and basking in the glow of their newfound marital bliss.

“Our vendors were absolutely amazing. They have worked together previously and it showed. I couldn't have asked for a better team,” Tayler shared.
