Monika Skolimowska Fotografia's journey into the world of photography began a decade ago, driven by an insatiable passion to not only capture but to immortalize the fleeting moments of life. "Every moment, every frame we capture is a fraction of a second, and in the next moment, something else is happening," Monika explains. Her philosophy revolves around the pursuit of those split-second stories that are often overlooked yet hold immense beauty and emotion.
Armed with her trusted Canon R6 Mark II and an array of lenses, Monika skillfully paints with light. Her tools are extensions of her vision, enabling her to sculpt the play of light and shadows into something tangible.
"Photography is also the art of working with light. For me, light is like a brush with which I can paint my images. The play of light and shadows allows me to bring out the most beautiful and unique aspects of every frame. Each session is a new challenge for me, a new opportunity to experiment with different techniques and styles," she describes. The post-processing is done with precision in Lightroom and Photoshop, where each image is carefully enhanced to bring out its unique story and beauty.
Monika approaches her clients with the warmth and openness one would show to a good friend. This rapport is vital, as she believes that a relaxed atmosphere allows for the capture of genuine emotions. "I approach my clients as I would good friends, striving to create an atmosphere where they feel confident and at ease. My goal is to build such trust that everyone can be themselves, without stress and tension. This allows me to capture genuine emotions, which are the essence of authentic and moving photography," she shares. “I aim for each session to be not only professional but also enjoyable and full of joy. My approach allows for natural, unforced shots that capture the beauty and authenticity of the moment. I believe that only when the client feels comfortable can I capture what is most important – sincere emotions and true moments that will bring joy for years to come.”
Specializing in wedding photography, Monika provides up to 12 hours of coverage, ensuring no precious moment goes uncaptured, from the first look to the final dance. Her packages are flexible and she is always ready to tailor her services to meet the specific visions of her clients. “I always tell my clients to trust me because I know what I'm doing. I always strive to create the most beautiful keepsake,” she adds.
While Monika is based in Poland and deeply cherishes capturing weddings in her homeland, her talent and enthusiasm extend across Europe. She delights in the opportunity to document love stories in diverse settings, each offering its own unique backdrop and inspiration.
