Born and raised in Kansas City, Mallorie McBride Photography has spent years honing her craft, turning what began as a passion into a thriving career. Currently living just outside of downtown KC with her fiancé, Mallorie describes her cozy Tudor-style home as the perfect space for creativity to flourish. "I’ve been passionate about photography for over a decade," she says, reflecting on her journey into the wedding photography world. “I discovered my love for weddings specifically during COVID-19.”

Over a Decade of Photography Experience

Since 2020, Mallorie has photographed over 100 weddings worldwide, an experience she describes as both humbling and deeply rewarding. “My passion for this industry grows stronger every day!” Mallorie adds.

Her background in marketing and business has played a significant role in shaping her career, giving her an edge in understanding the intricacies of running a successful photography business. When she's not behind the lens or managing client projects at her computer, you’ll find her immersing herself in a good book or at her favorite pilates studio.

True-to-Life Photography with an Editorial Touch

Describing her photography style, Mallorie states, “True to life, editorial, authentic, & connection-driven.” Each word is chosen deliberately, as Mallorie explains how important it is for her images to reflect the reality of the moment while maintaining an artistic flair. Her photographs are not just images but a reflection of the real emotions and connections she sees throughout the day. Her aim is to give her clients timeless, beautiful images that feel as real as the day they were taken.

As a dedicated Canon user, Mallorie is equipped with two Canon R6 bodies and an assortment of Canon lenses to capture every moment, from sweeping landscapes to intimate details. She also incorporates Godox flashes into her setup for dynamic lighting, and for clients who appreciate the richness of film, she uses a Canon EOS 3 to add an extra layer of texture and warmth.

Building Connections

One of the most striking aspects of Mallorie’s work is her ability to connect with her clients on a personal level. "Hands down, the best part is the connections I form with my couples and other wedding professionals," she says with a smile. "I love being able to say that every client becomes a genuine friend."

Mallorie’s approach to working with clients is rooted in communication and trust. "I listen—truly listen," she explains. “I know how to ask the right questions. Capturing the best photos is all about finding the perfect balance of trust and communication between photographer and client. I’m very fortunate to have clients who place their full faith in me and feel comfortable being vulnerable and sharing their hearts. I also prioritize ensuring my couples feel educated, confident, and guided throughout their experience with me.”

She goes the extra mile to ensure her couples feel confident, informed, and supported from start to finish. "Whether thats through detailed guides, check-in emails, or grabbing a drink after an engagement shoot, every couple I’ve worked with has said that what they appreciated most was how comfortable I made them feel." This personalized approach has earned her a loyal client base, with couples often praising how at ease they felt in front of her camera.

Where Meaningful Locations Meet Beautiful Architecture

In addition to local weddings, Mallorie is an avid destination wedding photographer. "Most definitely!" she says enthusiastically. "I especially love shooting anywhere with gorgeous architecture or in a location that's meaningful to the couple." Her favorite destination shoots have taken her to stunning locations across the globe, each one unique to the couple’s personal story.
