The story of Santiago Boceta Wedding Film begins not with a polished lens or film degree, but with a forgotten tripod in a dusty garage. “When Santiago was just 15 years old, he found a dirty and broken tripod in his uncle’s garage. He cleaned it, repaired it, and without realizing it, that small moment sparked his love for the audiovisual world.”
Born into a family of wedding videographers from the 1980s, Santiago was immersed in cameras, tapes, and the magic of captured emotions from the beginning. “Growing up surrounded by cameras, love stories, and unforgettable moments made him understand the importance of capturing memories that last forever.”
Now based in a peaceful village near Vienna, Santiago lives with his wife and son Elias, balancing a quiet family life with a passion for storytelling that knows no borders. “We see life as a gift and always strive to make the most of it.”
“Four years ago, we tied the knot in Italy, which gave us the chance to experience the couple’s perspective from the other side of the camera!” That once-in-a-lifetime moment deeply shifted Santiago’s approach to filming weddings, adding even more empathy and intentionality to his work. Today, every couple’s story is treated with the same care and emotional depth he felt on his own big day.
Santiago has been creating visual stories for over three decades, but his true passion found a home in weddings around ten years ago. Since then, he’s filmed more than 150 weddings—from intimate elopements to lavish celebrations across Europe.
“Our style is story-driven, emotional, and natural. We constantly try to develop new ideas in the filming process and in edition.” Santiago approaches each wedding with fresh eyes and a deep respect for detail. “We love documenting details and with our creative eye we always try to capture the beauty around us that makes your day so special.”
He emphasizes comfort and authenticity on set. “The best scenes happen when people feel comfortable and free to be themselves, so we attach a lot of importance to a good atmosphere during the entire experience.”
Behind every Santiago Boceta film is a technical setup built for cinematic quality. He uses three Panasonic Lumix 5S II cameras paired with Sigma lenses, all shot in 4K resolution for breathtaking clarity. “We also bring a Mavic Air 3 drone to capture breathtaking aerial shots,” Santiago adds, allowing his films to glide between ground-level intimacy and sweeping overhead views.
It’s the people—and their stories—that fuel Santiago’s passion. “Every wedding is unique, and being able to connect with the couples, hear their stories, and be part of their special day is something that fills us with joy.”
But it doesn’t stop there. “We also love traveling to new places, discovering beautiful spots, and coming back home with new experiences.” And of course, there’s one quirky tradition that adds joy to the job: “Oh, and of course, we can’t forget about enjoying a good ice cream on the wedding day—it’s always the perfect touch!”
Editing is another highlight of his work. “Watching each scene come to life and seeing how the emotions we captured on the wedding day turn into a unique video is incredibly rewarding.”
For Santiago, communication is key. “Typically, the couples who truly connect with our work already have a clear idea of what they want because they’ve seen our previous films and envision something similar.”
That said, he places great value on learning each couple’s unique story. “That’s why we always recommend a personal meeting via video call. This allows us to better understand their expectations, answer any questions, and help guide them through the next steps.”
This personalized approach ensures that every wedding film reflects the couple’s essence—and surpasses their expectations.
Santiago’s advice is simple yet powerful: “Photos capture moments, but video allows you to relive every emotion, every glance, and every word from that special day.” He reminds couples that investing in a wedding video is investing in a memory that grows more valuable with time. “It’s one of the most valuable investments because, over time, memories become even more precious.”
“If I were just starting my career and launching my own business, I would tell myself to trust the process and be very patient. Nothing happens overnight, and growth takes time.”
He also encourages new creatives to look around and learn. “Studying the market, understanding what couples are looking for, and finding a way to offer something unique is essential.”
Following the journeys of experienced filmmakers played a huge role in his own growth. “Observing their work, learning from their journey, and understanding how they have evolved in the industry can be an invaluable source of inspiration and knowledge.”
“Absolutely! Our favorite destinations by excellence are Italy, Spain, France and England.” Santiago is drawn to the elegance, history, and natural beauty of these locations—settings that elevate the love stories he tells.
With a heart rooted in family, a spirit fed by creativity, and a lens guided by emotion, Santiago Boceta Wedding Film transforms fleeting wedding moments into eternal treasures. Whether capturing whispered vows under a Tuscan sky or laughter echoing through a Viennese vineyard, Santiago’s work is a celebration of love, culture, and connection—one frame at a time.
