“Expressing myself through images has been a part of my life for nearly 20 years,” Michał begins, reflecting on the path that led him from photography to filmmaking. “It started with photography and gradually evolved into film.”
Before stepping into the world of weddings, Michał Sikora spent years as a newspaper and concert photographer, developing a sharp instinct for storytelling through spontaneous, real-life moments. This background became the foundation of his current style — one defined by sincerity, emotion, and atmosphere.

The Language of Motion

When asked how he would describe his approach, Michał smiles: “I aim to find the right balance between reportage and subtly guided moments.” His films are both natural and refined — blending documentary-style authenticity with a touch of creative direction.
Whether working solo or as part of a team, he maintains a deep focus on what truly matters. “I want to portray my clients in their full range of emotions — from laughter to tears,” he explains. “It’s often those in-between moments that hold the most truth.”

A self-professed lover of creative experimentation, Michał enjoys combining modern technology with nostalgic touches. “While using high-end and up-to-date gear, I love to get creative and enrich my footage with vintage cameras such as VHS or Super8,” he adds.

It brings warmth and texture to the story.

Precision in Every Frame

As a Canon partner, Michał works exclusively with the brand’s gear. “The flagship Canon R3 with the 28–70mm f/2 is my main camera,” he shares, “and I use the Canon R6 Mark II as my second. I rely on a range of lenses, from ultra-wide to telephoto, depending on the scene.”
This mastery of equipment allows him to be both discreet and intentional. His style isn’t about overpowering a moment but enhancing it — giving each frame purpose and grace.

The Heart of His Craft

“What drives me most is the opportunity to learn people’s stories and be part of various wedding celebrations,” Michał reflects. “The joy, emotions, and sense of creating something meaningful — a keepsake that will stay with my clients for years — are what make this work deeply fulfilling.”
It’s not simply about the wedding day, but about connection. His films carry an emotional rhythm that speaks universally, transcending cultures and languages — something that comes naturally to him as a storyteller working with couples from all around the world.

An Invisible Presence

Michał describes his on-the-day approach as intuitive and flexible. “During a wedding, I am a witness, a participant, and a helper,” he says. “My main goal is to create a fun, relaxed experience for the couple and their guests.”
He values authenticity above all: “When needed, I gently guide my clients, but most of the time, I remain invisible. I often hear that guests are surprised to see the final film — they hadn’t realized there was even a videographer present.”

Advice from Experience

To engaged couples, Michał offers simple but wise advice: “Be yourself. Don’t focus on the to-do list during your wedding day. The more relaxed and easy-going you are, the better the flow — and the more authentic your story will be.”
And if he could give his younger self one piece of advice? “Be more specific about the venues and wedding styles you want to work with,” he reflects. “I would also start working in a team of two or three camera operators earlier — it allows me to focus even more on the couple.”

The Allure of Destination Weddings

Michał’s love for travel is woven into his art. “Even in Poland, about 80% of my clients are foreign or mixed couples because of my experience and fluent English,” he explains. Destination weddings, for him, are not just about breathtaking scenery but about human connection.
When asked about his favorite location, his answer comes without hesitation:

Lake Como. It’s pure magic — every frame feels cinematic.

A Legacy of Emotion

Michał Sikora’s films are more than wedding videos; they are emotional time capsules that reveal the essence of love and human connection. With his blend of technical mastery, artistic sensitivity, and unobtrusive storytelling, he continues to redefine what wedding cinematography can be — timeless, honest, and profoundly moving.
