Some artists film weddings. Others translate emotion.
Alex Rud Films — the husband-and-wife team Alexander and Alexandra — belong firmly to the second category.
Their journey began not just with cameras, but with music, curiosity, and a desire to preserve genuine human connection. “For us these aren’t just numbers,” they say. “We put a part of ourselves into each video.”
Today, with more than 350 weddings captured across Sweden, Italy, France, Norway, and beyond, they have shaped a style that couples across Europe describe as timeless, soulful, and disarmingly real.
When asked about their beginning in the wedding world, Alexander and Alexandra return to one theme again and again: exploration.
Being musicians themselves, they approach filmmaking with a unique instinct — one that listens for rhythm as much as it sees light.
“Being musicians ourselves, we carefully curate every soundtrack to match the emotion and rhythm of the story,” they share. It’s a rare creative signature that defines their entire brand.
Their films aren’t built. They’re composed.
Alex Rud Films began shooting weddings in 2014 — long before “wedding films” grew into the cinematic art form they are today.
Since then, the duo has traveled across Europe, documenting hundreds of celebrations. “We have filmed more than 350 weddings in different countries,” they tell us, and each one brought new people, new emotions, new lessons.
Their international footprint is bold:
Sweden, Italy, France, Norway, and many more.
Wherever love takes them, they follow.
In an industry where filmmakers often choose between documentary realism and cinematic beauty, Alexander and Alexandra decided to choose both.
“Our style of filming is a mix between documentary and cinematic,” they explain. “We often describe it as a modern classic wedding film.”
It’s a perfect description.
Their films feel real — intimate, raw, full of emotion — yet every frame is refined with the delicacy of cinema.
They don’t interrupt moments. They observe them.
They don’t stage emotions. They honor them.
When asked about equipment, the duo shares a simple philosophy: couples shouldn’t worry about it — because everything is already taken care of.
“Our clients don’t need to think about the technical side – it’s always under our control.”
Their kit includes:
professional cameras and lenses
stabilization equipment
insured and licensed drones
dedicated audio gear
and, in a charming twist, a vintage VHS camera
That last one has become a signature.
“Besides that, we have a VHS camera that we use to add a bit of nostalgic vibe,” they say. They even hand a handycam to guests — and those spontaneous clips often become favorites in the final film.
For Alex Rud Films, weddings are not events. They’re once-in-a-lifetime chapters in human stories.
“What we love most about being wedding videographers is sharing one of the most meaningful days in our clients’ lives with them,” they tell us. “We get to capture the moments they’ll remember forever — the laughter, the smiles, the tears, and the wild dancing.”
Then they add, with a joy that feels contagious:
“Isn’t that what a dream job looks like?”
The authenticity of that line says everything about their work.
One of their greatest strengths is the atmosphere they create.
“First of all, we understand that we can create an atmosphere where our couples feel safe, even with three cameras on them,” they explain.
It’s never awkward. Never forced.
“It’s mainly a friendly environment, full of support and humor,” they say. “This helps our clients just be themselves — and that’s exactly what we love to film, the authenticity and sincerity.”
This is why couples trust them.
This is why their films feel alive.
In the whirlwind of wedding planning, the duo encourages couples to let go and simply be present.
“On the wedding day, our main advice for engaged couples is to let go of all the planning, trust the professionals and helpers around them, and most importantly, focus on each other,” they share.
“Just look at each other with love and truly experience every single moment together.”
Their films reflect that philosophy: breathing space, genuine emotion, quiet seconds that stay forever.
If they could return to 2014, they would have three pieces of advice:
be brave
experiment
stay kind
“If we could give advice to ourselves when we were just starting out and opening our own business, it would be to be brave and not afraid to experiment — that’s how you discover yourself,” they say.
“Be kind and flexible with your clients and colleagues, and remember that as videographers and photographers, we’re not solo performers.”
That humility is part of why couples love them.
“We are destination videographers and for us, every wedding is a destination,” they say. And they mean it.
They specialize in Sweden, Italy, and France — three countries where their artistry truly shines.
But for them, the magic isn’t in the château or the coastline.
Sometimes the most unforgettable wedding is simply:
“a forest, where the couple shares truly heartfelt words, hugs, and gets lost in each other.”
Because in their eyes, emotion is the real destination.
Alex Rud Films brings something rare to the wedding world: a harmony of artistry, sincerity, and emotional intelligence. Their “modern classic” style, shaped by music and human connection, has become beloved by couples across Europe.
They don’t just film weddings.
They capture heartbeats.
They frame stories.
They preserve the essence of love — with elegance, soul, and unmistakable authenticity.
