For many years working on our wedding films we have been experimenting with everything we could, starting from changing the equipment and the shooting techniques and to the colour-correction and sound processing. And eventually we‘ve found our style and started to understand what we like.
Being musicians themselves, they approach filmmaking with a unique instinct — one that listens for rhythm as much as it sees light.
“Being musicians ourselves, we carefully curate every soundtrack to match the emotion and rhythm of the story,” they share. It’s a rare creative signature that defines their entire brand.
Their films aren’t built. They’re composed.
Alex Rud Films began shooting weddings in 2014 — long before “wedding films” grew into the cinematic art form they are today.
Since then, the duo has traveled across Europe, documenting hundreds of celebrations. “We have filmed more than 350 weddings in different countries,” they tell us, and each one brought new people, new emotions, new lessons.

“Our style of filming is a mix between documentary and cinematic,” they explain. “We often describe it as a modern classic wedding film.”

When asked about equipment, the duo shares a simple philosophy: couples shouldn’t worry about it — because everything is already taken care of.
“Our clients don’t need to think about the technical side – it’s always under our control.”
Their kit includes:
professional cameras and lenses
stabilization equipment
insured and licensed drones
dedicated audio gear
and, in a charming twist, a vintage VHS camera
That last one has become a signature.
“Besides that, we have a VHS camera that we use to add a bit of nostalgic vibe,” they say. They even hand a handycam to guests — and those spontaneous clips often become favorites in the final film.
For Alex Rud Films, weddings are not events. They’re once-in-a-lifetime chapters in human stories.
“What we love most about being wedding videographers is sharing one of the most meaningful days in our clients’ lives with them,” they tell us. “We get to capture the moments they’ll remember forever — the laughter, the smiles, the tears, and the wild dancing.”
Then they add, with a joy that feels contagious:
“Isn’t that what a dream job looks like?”

“First of all, we understand that we can create an atmosphere where our couples feel safe, even with three cameras on them,” they explain.

“It’s mainly a friendly environment, full of support and humor,” they say. “This helps our clients just be themselves — and that’s exactly what we love to film, the authenticity and sincerity.”

“On the wedding day, our main advice for engaged couples is to let go of all the planning, trust the professionals and helpers around them, and most importantly, focus on each other,” they share.
“Just look at each other with love and truly experience every single moment together.”

If they could return to 2014, they would have three pieces of advice:

“If we could give advice to ourselves when we were just starting out and opening our own business, it would be to be brave and not afraid to experiment — that’s how you discover yourself,” they say.
“Be kind and flexible with your clients and colleagues, and remember that as videographers and photographers, we’re not solo performers.”
That humility is part of why couples love them.
“We are destination videographers and for us, every wedding is a destination,” they say. And they mean it.
They specialize in Sweden, Italy, and France — three countries where their artistry truly shines.
For example, over the past year, we’ve had more than 50 flights and we genuinely love it.
But for them, the magic isn’t in the château or the coastline.
