From as early as she can remember, Nikola Domín was captivated by weddings. “I dreamt about weddings — stunning brides, beautiful celebrations, and the magical moment when two people promise eternal love to each other,” she recalls. Nikola relishes the entire process — from early concepts to the final flourish. “I absolutely love the planning process itself, and then seeing it all come together on the day — whether it’s a small intimate celebration or a grand luxury wedding — realizing that everything we envisioned has worked perfectly.” And when she sees the raw, honest emotions of couples and guests, she knows she’s fulfilled her purpose.
Meeting new people and exploring diverse cultures is another source of inspiration for her. Nikola works primarily with international couples, designing weddings that reflect their unique personalities, backgrounds, and love stories.
At the heart of Julie May Weddings is a philosophy grounded in listening. “I truly listen to my clients and work for them, not push them into anything,” Nikola explains. She walks couples through options with transparency, pointing out pros and cons, and guiding them — without ever taking away their decision-making power.

But she remains flexible. “If a couple has already chosen a venue or some vendors … I happily tailor my approach to complement what is already in place,” she says.

Nikola also offers luxury engagement planning in Prague — a rare service in the region. She designs, organizes, and oversees every detail so couples can be fully present in the moment.
Choosing one standout wedding is difficult, but one remains vivid in her memory. A Kurdish-Norwegian celebration for 150 people became legendary in her mind. When the couple entered, Kurdish musicians played, and Norwegian guests spontaneously danced with white napkins from their tables.

Not all weddings follow smooth roads. One of her biggest challenges was a Czech-Indian wedding for 200 guests at Troja Castle. The couple’s vision leaned more towards a festival than a classic wedding — multiple stages, tents, live bands, Indian catering, and technical production. Nikola stepped in mid-planning after another agency fell short. The scale, complexity, and high expectations pushed every boundary. Yet, seeing the celebration unfold just as the couple dreamt was an achievement she treasures.
Budgeting is often one of the most stressful parts of wedding planning — but Nikola turns it into a collaborative, empowering process. She begins by clarifying what truly matters to the couple, then crafts a realistic plan around those priorities. She offers insights and trade-offs, helping couples make informed decisions without sacrificing the emotional impact of their day.
Her main advice? “Focus on what creates the most impact and joy. Be flexible with less important elements. With careful planning, prioritizing, and anticipating surprises, you can enjoy your wedding without financial stress while still having a luxurious and unforgettable celebration.”
If Nikola could travel back in time, she’d tell her emerging self: “Don’t be afraid — when you do what you love and put your heart into it, you will succeed.” She’d stress the importance of marketing — “amazing work deserves to be seen” — and remind herself to stay persistent, believe in her vision, and embrace every challenge as an opportunity for growth.
When asked about her dream wedding venues, Nikola doesn’t hesitate to dream big. In Prague, she imagines weddings at the National Museum or even on Charles Bridge. Internationally, she’s drawn to Villa Balbiano in Italy or a grand Lebanese celebration. “I’m always inspired by beautiful spaces and rich cultural traditions,” she says.
