For over two decades, GoBella Design & Planning has been transforming wedding visions into breathtaking realities. Founded in 2002, the company originally focused on corporate events until fate took an unexpected turn. "I got a call about planning a wedding, which I thought was interesting, so I took the job. Twenty-two years later, I still find weddings fascinating and a wonderful way to express my creativity."
Every wedding is a story waiting to be told, and for GoBella, the most rewarding part of the journey is the connection formed with each couple. "I most enjoy developing relationships with my clients. Seeing their faces of excitement on their wedding day brings me great joy."
The philosophy at GoBella is simple yet powerful: "Whatever it takes!" This guiding principle ensures that every wedding is a collaborative effort between the planner and the couple. "The weddings we most enjoy include lovely people who trust our expertise and are open to collaboration. A joint effort with respect is hands down the best method to get the best results."
Unlike many planning firms, GoBella offers only full-service wedding planning and design. "We have been in the business long enough to know that our hands touch everything. We prefer it so we know that everything is considered and thought through."
With years of experience come unforgettable weddings, but some leave an even deeper mark. "The most memorable wedding I planned was for PJ and Jordan at Nemacolin Resort. Their love and exuberance were so exciting to be around. The fashion by Jackson Wiederhoft was utterly insane, and the cherry on top was a surprise concert by Lady Gaga."
Wedding planning comes with its fair share of challenges, and managing expectations remains one of the biggest hurdles. "The biggest challenge is usually managing expectations with the budget allotted. The second biggest challenge is managing emotions as family members often have opinions that can sometimes take their toll on the couple."
Budgeting wisely is a critical aspect of successful planning. "Create a line-item realistic budget before a contract is signed. An experienced planner will know what to allocate. Look at the bottom line and make revisions based on what is most valued. Then, as venues and vendors are being selected, check their pricing against your established budget and STICK TO IT!"
Understanding a couple’s vision requires more than just logistics—it’s about truly getting to know them. "I spend time getting to know our clients and develop a relationship with them so that I can understand their preferences, their style, and their vision. From there, I am best able to guide them through the process of planning a meaningful and beautiful wedding."
GoBella has built strong relationships with some of the most stunning venues. "In Colorado, we work a lot with The Little Nell in Aspen and the Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor’s Gulch in Beaver Creek. We've also been spending a lot of time in Park City and are loving the Lodge at Blue Sky, the St. Regis, and the Montage Deer Valley."
However, there are still dream locations on the horizon. "I have a list of dream wedding venues, including Rosewood Kona in Hawaii and Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco in Tuscany. I also want to work in San Miguel, MX, anywhere in Spain, and of course Italy—always Italy."
For couples embarking on their wedding planning journey, the advice is straightforward: "Hire a thoughtful, emotionally intelligent, and creative wedding planner first."
And for those dreaming of launching their own business? "I built my business from the closet in our guest bedroom by myself and into a successful company with outstanding staff. My advice to my younger self would have been to not try to do it on my own. Having at least one other person to help lift the load, provide support, and collaborate with is extremely helpful."
