Some people fall into wedding planning by accident, but for Table 6 Productions, it was destiny. After spending 15 years in the advertising world, planning her own wedding became a turning point.

“I became a wedding planner because I’ve always been passionate about creating memorable experiences for people. There’s something so special about being a part of one of the most important days of someone’s life and helping them bring their vision to life.”

Even before launching a career in wedding planning, she had a talent for organizing unforgettable events. “I was quite the party thrower in high school and college, so it was my calling!” she recalls.

The First Wedding: A Lesson in Adaptability

Every planner has a story about their first wedding, and for Table 6 Productions, it was an unforgettable one.

“The first wedding I ever planned was for a girl in medical school. She got married at a historic mansion. I will never forget that wedding because as an amateur I forgot to order sound for the ceremony. Oops! Also, the caterer lost two trays of lamb and had to run to multiple grocery stores to buy more. I nicknamed that wedding 'The Lost Lamb.'”

It was a humbling experience, but also one that reinforced the importance of being prepared for anything. “I could seriously write a book!” she laughs.

Designing Unique and Breathtaking Experiences

For Table 6 Productions, the creative process is everything.

“I thrive on pushing my creativity to the next level and coming up with innovative concepts for my clients. Making each event unique and personalized to our clients while delivering an exceptional guest experience is our ultimate goal!”

This dedication to originality is why they avoid relying too much on platforms like Pinterest. “It certainly serves its purpose in learning about your clients' desires, however, there is no fun in copying what someone else has done. We always try to put a spin on things.”

The Philosophy of Table 6 Productions

Staying focused on their unique approach is a key value at Table 6 Productions.

“We have always tried to keep the race horse approach in our business. Race horses wear blinders so they can focus on their own race and not get distracted. We try to adopt a similar approach, especially in how competitive our industry has become.”

It’s a mindset that has helped them carve out their own path in the luxury wedding industry.

The Ideal Wedding Client

The dream weddings for Table 6 Productions aren’t just about budget but about trust.

“The weddings we like to plan the most are the ones that have no budget! HAHA! We love planning weddings for people that not only appreciate the finite details but also that trust us! That is our favorite client planner relationship and where we thrive.”

An Exclusive Approach to Planning

After trying various service models, Table 6 Productions has refined their approach.

“Over the last 21 years, we have tried all the things. Day of, Month of, Partial, Design Only, etc. And it just never really works how you planned it. You always end up doing more work than you signed up for and balls get dropped.”

As a result, they now exclusively offer full wedding weekend planning. “Executing someone else's vision isn't why we got into this business,” she explains.

A Career-Defining Moment

Among the countless weddings planned, one stands out: Victoria’s Secret model Taylor Hill’s wedding.

“Not only did the wedding set some massive trends in the wedding industry for 2024, but it was featured in VOGUE, and that has always been a career goal for us. Only took 20 years!”

Building Client Relationships

For Table 6 Productions, understanding their clients goes far beyond floral preferences and venue choices.

“We really spend a lot of time getting to know them. All the family dynamics, childhoods, relationships, personal and professional lives, we try to learn all the very intricate details because this not only sets the tone for the weekend but it allows us to dig deep into their personalities and make sure we deliver on their expectations.”

Favorite Wedding Venues

Table 6 Productions has built strong relationships with some of the most exclusive venues, including:

  • Devil's Thumb Ranch

  • The Broadmoor

  • Brush Creek Ranch

  • The Ritz Carlton Bachelor's Gulch

  • Camp Hale

  • The Little Nell

  • Private Ranches

  • Destination Weddings

The Biggest Challenge in Wedding Planning

Budgets remain one of the trickiest aspects of wedding planning.

“By far, unrealistic budgets! Instagram is great, however, clients will come to us wanting something they saw on our Instagram and not realize that their entire wedding budget was what that client spent on flowers.”

To avoid unrealistic expectations, they believe in complete transparency. “I am VERY upfront about money in the beginning. I think it is important to build trust when people are spending 6 and 7 figures on their wedding.”

The Reality of Staying on Budget

Every couple dreams of staying within budget, but Table 6 Productions has seen time and again that this is rarely the case.

“To be honest, every client we work with exceeds their budget. We do our best to guide them but at the end of the day, it is their money.”

A bit of financial flexibility is always a good idea. “Our best advice is to know that you are most likely going to exceed your budget by at least 10%. We had one client a few years ago start with a $300,000 budget and end up at $1 million.”

Words of Wisdom for Future Brides and Planners

For couples currently planning their wedding, Table 6 Productions has one major piece of advice:

“If you are trying to plan your wedding without a planner, you're crazy! You wouldn't build a house without an architect. A solid wedding planner is an essential vendor on your team and is truly your most valued asset.”

For those starting in the industry, her advice is clear:

“I would say spend a lot of time defining your ideal client and direct all your efforts to attracting that person to your business.”

Looking back, she acknowledges she would have approached things differently. “A lot of us spent so much time 'building our way up' and that wasn't necessarily the best approach because it took far too long to enter the luxury and ultra-luxury market. We deserved to be there a long time ago!”

Dream Venue for the Ultimate Wedding

For someone who has planned weddings at some of the world’s most stunning locations, there’s still one dream venue on the list.

“I have always wanted to plan a wedding at the Biltmore Estate in North Carolina or the Montage Palmetto Bluff.”

With over two decades of experience, a keen eye for detail, and an unwavering commitment to excellence, Table 6 Productions continues to redefine the art of luxury wedding planning. Whether it’s an intimate affair or a grand celebration, their mission remains the same: to create unforgettable experiences that leave a lasting impression.
