“I don’t have specific venues that I primarily work with, but I usually recommend venues with an open-vendor policy if couples haven’t already chosen one. That said, I’ve also had experience working with venues that have a strict preferred vendor policy, and those events have always gone smoothly as well.”

One of the most valuable parts of working with a seasoned planner? They know what to look for in vendor contracts.
“My main advice for couples when handling contracts with other vendors is to have a trusted wedding planner on your side. One of the key reasons I encourage couples to work with a planner is that we bring experience in reviewing contracts and identifying potential issues before they become problems.”

“We always have a Plan A, Plan B, and even backup plans beyond that. Being proactive and thinking five steps ahead is what sets experienced planners apart—after all, we’ve learned from past events and know how to protect our clients from any contract pitfalls.”

“My main advice for dealing with inclement weather is to choose a venue that offers both indoor and outdoor spaces, so you have options no matter what the weather decides to do.”

“It’s also important to know the road access in case of severe weather conditions like storms, heavy rain, or flooding... Being prepared with a solid backup plan ensures that no matter the weather, your event can go off without a hitch.”

“By God's grace, I haven't faced any major challenges with weddings in the past. We always ensure we have more than just a Plan A and B—we plan for every scenario.”

“One memorable event was planning a not-so-big wedding with around 100 guests in just two weeks... As long as the client’s vision aligns with their budget, we’re confident we can make it happen smoothly and successfully.”

“My main advice for couples to stay on budget is to know your priorities. It's important to determine which aspects of the wedding are most important to you... and allocate more of your budget to those areas.”

“It’s also crucial to think about the financial impact both during and after the wedding... We can also suggest alternatives or negotiate with vendors to get the best value for your money.”

“My main advice when creating a timeline is to strike a balance between staying on track and ensuring the couple doesn’t feel rushed... The goal is to make sure the couple enjoys their day, without feeling like they’re constantly watching the clock.”
