“I’m Bonnie, and I run Bliss Events, a destination wedding planning and design firm based in Los Cabos, Mexico,” she begins with warmth and clarity. Over the past twelve years, Bonnie Chase and her talented team have designed more than 450 weddings for couples from around the world. What started as a professional evolution from event-driven marketing has become a life devoted to curating unforgettable, emotionally resonant celebrations.

Her clients are global travelers with an eye for detail and an appreciation for design that feels deeply personal. “Our unique edge is that we’ve never gone over an event budget,” she says with pride. “Not only are our events within budget, but they’ve been featured in Vogue, Martha Stewart Weddings, Brides, and more.”

When asked about her company’s philosophy, Bonnie doesn’t hesitate.

Every wedding has to begin from a blank canvas and be carefully curated based on a couple’s specific needs, vision, culture, values, and budget. There is no way to cookie-cutter this.

Her words reveal a planner who sees beyond logistics and aesthetics. For Bonnie, wedding planning is about connection—with the couple, their culture, and their energy. “Our edge is that we love our couples and we love weddings. That passion is our secret sauce.”

A Full-Service Approach to Love

Bliss Events offers luxury, full-service wedding planning and design, overseeing everything from concept to completion. “We do everything with and for our clients from the day we meet until forever,” Bonnie shares.

For couples seeking the same experience at a more accessible level, she created a sister company, Lucky in Love. “Lucky is still full-service planning and design,” she explains, “but we pared down the service marginally to make it available to more couples.”

The Weddings That Stay in Her Heart

Bonnie smiles when recalling the weddings that have touched her most deeply. “I could never choose just one,” she admits. “But I’ve become true friends with many of my clients since their big day.”

Her relationships extend far beyond the aisle. “Past clients have traveled to Paris with me for New Year’s Eve, partnered with me on projects, joined me for ski trips, and hosted me in their hometowns. The weddings I love planning the most are the ones for clients who I fell in love with.”

At Bliss Events, structure meets soul. “We plan weddings in a very specific order, proven effective after years of experience,” Bonnie explains. “We get to know our clients, understand their needs and vision, and start with their biggest priorities.”

Her team has orchestrated weddings in Los Cabos, San Miguel de Allende, Merida, Mexico City, Tulum, Tuscany, Amalfi Coast, Lake Como, Venice, and Spain, working at venues like Acre Resort, Flora Farms, Nobu, Baja Luna, One&Only Palmilla, Il Borro Toscana, Fontanelle Estate, and Borgo Pignano.

The Challenge Behind the Glamour

“The most challenging part of wedding planning is bringing in our couple’s vision within their budget,” Bonnie admits. Yet it’s also her greatest strength. “Our biggest core value, and arguably our biggest claim to fame, is budget management. We’re the best at it—but that doesn’t mean it’s easy.”

Her advice for couples is simple yet profound:

Start with an estimated budget before you sign anything. That document will be the most important planning tool, and you’ll revisit it before booking anything.

Bonnie’s Golden Advice for Couples

Bonnie’s wisdom, refined through hundreds of celebrations, resonates with both heart and practicality:

  • “Get a wedding planner. We know how to maximize your budget and avoid costly mistakes.”

  • “Plan the wedding you want—not what your guests expect.”

  • “Prioritize atmosphere, flow, and experience—so your day doesn’t just look beautiful, it feels unforgettable.”

  • “Headcount is the biggest factor in your budget.”

  • “Quality over quantity—make every celebration incredible, not just ‘fine.’”

  • “Don’t overscript your ceremony. Authenticity > perfection.”

  • “A mood board isn’t a plan—Pinterest doesn’t build timelines.”

  • “Pick the right photographer.”

  • “Trust your planner.”

  • “Enjoy the process.”

Lessons in Leadership and Legacy

When reflecting on her career, Bonnie shares advice she’d give her younger self: “Worry less about what other people think about you. Just get out there and do exactly what you’re the best at.”

After nearly two decades in the industry, she continues to dream big. “I’ve always wanted to plan a wedding in Asia Pacific,” she reveals with a spark.

I have a wedding bucket list that I fully intend to make my way through.

A Legacy of Bliss

Bonnie Chase is more than a planner—she’s a visionary who transforms love stories into living art. Through innovation, intention, and heart, she has built a brand that thrives on trust, emotion, and excellence.

For couples seeking an experience as unforgettable as their love, Bliss Events offers not just a wedding, but a journey—crafted with soul, precision, and endless joy.
