At Wezoree, we celebrate the artists behind the magic — the ones who bring love stories to life. Meet Brooke Casey, the heart and mind behind Brooke Casey Weddings, a New Orleans-based wedding planner whose journey is as heartfelt and intentional as the weddings she curates.
Brooke's journey began with a bold move. “When I was 23-years-old, I decided to leave my post-college job and take a leap of faith to pursue a career in weddings.” Without a clear path, she wore many hats — wedding planner’s assistant, property assistant at a popular venue, and office assistant for the first exclusive candle décor company in New Orleans.
But soon, her heart found its calling in wedding planning. “It didn't take long for me to realize wedding planning was what I wanted to do.”
Brooke’s first wedding was a defining moment. “One of my first weddings was for someone I still consider a friend. It was when DIY was all the rage!” From unloading SUVs packed with décor to managing a team of friends and family, the experience was exhausting — and unforgettable. “We were exhausted but I felt fulfilled in a way that I hadn't before.”
That event became her first feature on Style Me Pretty. “The bride turned friend was a graphic designer and helped me develop my brand, created my first logo, and was one of my biggest cheerleaders during that first chapter of my career.”
Brooke isn’t just a planner — she’s a connector. “I love the relationships I have made with clients, their families and vendors in New Orleans.”
One special moment stands out: “I was on a New Orleans second line parade, and one of my past father of the bride's happened to be walking by. He ran up to me to give me a big hug in the middle of the parade.”
Those relationships fuel her passion. “I'm forever intertwined in their lives because of my presence on one of the most significant days of their life.”
Brooke’s philosophy is beautifully simple: “My favorite weddings are the ones where the couple is excited for their wedding but is looking forward to marriage even more.”
She recalls a favorite: “One of my favorite weddings was a 35-person micro wedding… The ceremony and dinner took place in the same small dining room of one of my favorite hotels in New Orleans… It was the most intimate wedding I'd ever been a part of.”
“The couple took a picture with every guest that was there. You could tell each person there meant the world to them.”
From event management to full-service planning, Brooke customizes experiences for every couple. “I have created custom design packages for the brides who have a good grip on the logistics… I've also created packages that cover planning services for the entire weekend of wedding festivities.”
There are weddings you plan — and weddings that stay in your heart forever. “The bride was diagnosed with cancer shortly after booking a wedding venue and setting a date… In her vows, the bride mentioned how she didn't expect to get married with a pixie cut… and the groom said she had never looked so beautiful.”
“There wasn't a dry eye in the crowd. Weddings like this keep things in perspective for me.”
Brooke believes in a deeply collaborative process. “During my initial call with clients, I always ask what their top three priorities are.” These priorities guide every decision and help couples stay grounded when planning becomes overwhelming.
“It’s a very collaborative experience because at the end of the day, I want the wedding to feel like them and have their personalities shine through with every decision they make.”
Brooke’s love for New Orleans runs deep. “There are so many great venues in New Orleans and quite a variety of spaces!”
One favorite? “Il Mercato is the venue I work with the most… It's a blank canvas so my couples are able to really make decisions based off of their own personal style.”
Of course, the path isn’t always smooth. “The biggest challenge can be when there are 'too many cooks in the kitchen'... someone is financially contributing to the wedding so they want a say.”
Sometimes, she steps in as more than a planner. “Sometimes I'm the wedding planner and other times I'm the therapist talking through stressful situations.”
“When creating the budget spreadsheet, I always plan for less than the maximum budget.” With fluctuating prices and spontaneous add-ons, flexibility is essential.
“I want my clients to have the flexibility to add those on without worrying about the financial burden of it all.”
To couples planning now: “Stay true to what you want… It's your day. Do what you want, how you want.”
To her younger self: “Keep your head down and focus on yourself… Your ideal client doesn't have to match what someone else's is… Stay true to yourself and do what feels right to you.”
With every wedding she plans, Brooke isn’t just managing logistics — she’s creating moments that matter. She’s there through the joy, the nerves, the toasts, and the tears.
“I’m able to witness the best day of someone’s life so far and create a space that will live on in their memories for the rest of their lives.”
For couples looking for a planner who sees beyond the details and into the heart of the celebration, Brooke Casey Weddings offers more than expertise — she offers devotion.
