“I was among the very first wedding planners in Europe, at a time when the profession simply didn’t exist here,” Exclusive Italy Weddings recalls. “Fresh out of art school, I found myself on a train where I met two American girls who collaborated with a well-known event planner in the U.S. As we spoke, they told me I would be perfect for this job, a job I didn’t even know could exist.”
That seemingly chance encounter sparked a lifelong journey. “It showed me that I could transform my love for art, beauty, and travel into a way of creating unforgettable celebrations. Nearly thirty years later, I am still here, crafting weddings that feel as unique and inspiring as a work of art.”
When asked what she loves most about her work, her answer is immediate:
“What I love most about my job is the chance to create something unique for every couple, to craft beauty, to immerse them in the true essence of Italy. I love blending the charm of each location with the work of talented artisans, weaving together traditions to give them an experience that feels deeply authentic.”
Her approach goes beyond one extraordinary day.
She began planning weddings in 1997, long before “destination weddings” became a global trend, and officially launched Exclusive Italy Weddings in 2003. In a way, she not only built a company—she helped shape the entire industry in Europe.
While many planners offer set bundles, she has a different philosophy:
“No, I don’t offer standard packages. Every event I create is fully customized to reflect the couple’s vision, needs, and personality, ensuring that no two weddings are ever the same.”
Her work extends far beyond logistics. “We act as event designers and producers, providing creative direction and flawless execution. Our concierge team assists guests with every need, including hotel bookings and transportation arrangements.”
And then there are the experiences. “We also curate extraordinary adventures—private tours, wine tastings, cooking classes—allowing couples and their guests to discover Italy in ways that are truly out of the ordinary.”
She describes the process as one that is thorough but also filled with joy:
Discovery Call – “We begin with a call to get to know the couple, understand their vision, and ensure we are the right fit for each other.”
Destination & Venue Search – Matching the couple to the perfect setting.
Concept, Planning & Design – “We define the style, select vendors, manage the budget, and develop design concepts with mood boards and bespoke elements.”
Wedding Day Coordination – Flawless execution that allows the couple to simply enjoy.
After the Wedding – “We stay in touch, ship items, create albums, and even assist with magazine features, ensuring the celebration continues to inspire.”
Over the years, Exclusive Italy Weddings has orchestrated celebrations in some of the country’s most celebrated venues:
Villa Cimbrone on the Amalfi Coast
Villa Balbiano on Lake Como
Villa Cetinale in Tuscany
Belmond Hotels across Italy
Still, she emphasizes exploration:
Her career has included challenges that pushed her creativity:
“One of the most complex was planning a wedding at a UNESCO World Heritage property that rarely hosts private events, which required extensive documentation and approvals.”
She also recalls weather-related pivots. “We once had to move an entire wedding one day earlier to avoid a forecasted storm, and in another case, when rough seas made it impossible to reach the planned destination for a side event, we organized everything in a completely different venue in less than 24 hours.”
Her advice is grounded in decades of experience:
On Contracts: “My advice to couples is not to rush into signing contracts without fully understanding all the details.”
On Backups: “Always have a solid and comfortable indoor option for dinner and after-dinner celebrations.”
On Budgets: “Identify the key elements that matter most and focus your investment there.”
On Timelines: “Leave buffer time and don’t overload the schedule. The best weddings feel relaxed, not rushed.”
As a final reflection, she encourages couples to look inward.
“One of the best pieces of advice is to trust your wedding planner’s vision and experience, especially if they’ve been in the field for many years. A good planner knows which ideas are genuinely functional and which are just ‘instagrammable’ and might create issues behind the scenes.”
And perhaps the most important reminder of all:
