From the moment we begin our conversation with the founder of Aliana Events, her words weave a tapestry of beauty, meaning, and connection. As a creative driven by storytelling through spaces, she doesn’t just plan weddings—she brings narratives to life. Over a decade in the industry, she has refined her vision of how two people’s love can be expressed in every detail of a celebration.
We asked: What inspired you to become a wedding planner? She responds:
“I was inspired to become a planner because I love bringing beauty, joy, and meaning to the most important milestones in people’s lives.”
That spark of wanting to craft more than just “an event” has guided her path ever since. Every decision, from color palettes to light direction, is rooted in the desire to tell a story on the day itself.
Follow-up: What do you like best about your job?
“What I love best is creating moments that become lifelong memories. Knowing that my work becomes part of someone’s most meaningful moment of their life is really special.”
In those fleeting, celebratory hours, her team is backstage—ensuring the magic flows, the moments unfold, and that the couple can simply feel and live.
“It has been 10 years.”
Ten years of cabling, conferring, designing, and dreaming. Ten years of growth, lessons, heartbreaks-turned-opportunities, and countless celebrations.
She explains that Aliana Events offers two distinct packages—giving couples room to choose how hands-on or hands-off they want their experience to be.
But it doesn’t stop there.
“In addition to planning, we specialize in custom design, décor, and immersive experiences. From bespoke installations to curated entertainment and personalized details, we go far beyond the basics to make every celebration truly one-of-a-kind.”
Your wedding isn’t simply “planned”—it’s designed.
What’s your planning process like?
From mood boards to venue scouting to final floorplans, her team aims to weave the couple’s voice throughout.
Do you tend to work in particular venues?
“We don’t limit ourselves to just one venue. While we often work at estates, private villas, and luxury hotels in California and beyond, our approach is fully tailored to each client.”
Whether it’s sunlit hillsides or historic ballrooms, the canvas changes—but the vision stays true.
What’s your main advice for couples when handling contracts with other vendors?
“Read every contract carefully and make sure you understand what’s included—and what isn’t. Look out for payment schedules, cancellation policies, overtime fees, and exactly what services are covered. Don’t be afraid to ask questions or request adjustments—it’s better to clarify upfront than be surprised later.”
Clarity and communication, she says, are the foundation of every smooth collaboration.
What’s your main advice with a back-up plan for inclement weather?
“Don’t wait until the last minute. Have a solid back-up plan in place early—whether that’s a tent, heaters, or an indoor option—so you can switch smoothly if needed. It takes away stress and ensures the day feels perfect no matter what the weather does.”
Calm amid chaos—that’s part of her signature.
What’s the biggest challenge you’ve faced with weddings in the past?
“Early in my career, I had a wedding for 500 guests when the truck carrying all the plates broke down on a Sunday—when most rental companies were closed. Instead of panicking, I stayed calm and thought quickly. I found an emergency rental line, secured a new truck within an hour, and got everything to the venue. Because of the situation, I knew I had to extend the cocktail hour, so I reached out to a friend who was an incredible violinist. He came right away and played during that extra time, turning what could have been a stressful delay into an unforgettable moment. Guests enjoyed the longer cocktail hour, the live music, and the chance to connect. What started as a potential disaster became one of the most beautiful parts of the evening, and the celebration turned out even better than planned.”
That story, she says, taught her one of her guiding truths:
“As long as you stay calm, think creatively, and adapt, there is always a way to transform challenges into something magical.”
How can you help the couple stay on budget? What’s your main advice?
“I keep couples on budget by helping them prioritize. We look at what’s most important to them, then allocate funds accordingly. My advice is to be clear about your top three priorities—whether that’s food, music, or design—and let the rest support those choices.”
It’s less about limiting creativity, more about focused intention.
What’s your main advice when creating a timeline?
“Don’t try to squeeze too much in. Keep the schedule realistic, allow buffer time, and make sure everyone knows where they need to be and when. A good timeline makes the day smooth and stress-free.”
Time, she says, is as much part of the design as color or flowers.
Do you have any advice for couples planning their wedding now?
“Don’t feel pressured to follow trends—they come and go. Instead, follow your soul and create a wedding that truly reflects you—your style, your dream, and the aesthetics you love. The most beautiful celebrations are the ones that feel authentic and personal.”
With Aliana Events, every wedding is more than a checklist—it’s a soulful narrative, rendered in light, texture, sound, and love.
