For Giorgia Verdi, wedding planning has never been just about events. It has always been about emotion — carefully guided, beautifully designed, and executed with quiet precision. As the founder of Boutique Weddings, Giorgia brings together nearly three decades of experience, a fashion-trained eye, and a deeply romantic soul to create weddings that feel intimate, intentional, and unmistakably personal.
Giorgia’s professional path began in fashion — an industry that taught her the value of aesthetics, timing, production, and absolute attention to detail.
“My background started in fashion, where I learned the importance of precision, deadlines, and production,” she explains.
That foundation proved invaluable when she transitioned into wedding planning, first by working alongside an American wedding planner. The experience gave her a strong international perspective and set a very high standard for service, organization, and destination clients — long before destination weddings became mainstream.
Around 25 years ago, Giorgia entered the wedding world, and 20 years ago she officially founded Boutique Weddings, making it one of the early destination wedding planning agencies on Lake Como.
Some memories never fade. Giorgia still vividly recalls the first wedding she planned on Lake Como.
“It was an intimate celebration in a historic lakeside villa, with guests arriving by boat and a dinner under the stars.”
At the time, there were no planning platforms, no endless references, and no structured vendor systems. Everything relied on creativity, strong relationships, and hands-on coordination.
“That experience shaped the way I work,” she says. “Calm, detailed, and always focused on making the couple feel fully supported.”
That same philosophy continues to define her approach today.
When asked what inspired her to become a wedding planner, Giorgia’s answer is simple and honest.
For her, a wedding is not just something to be seen — it’s something to be felt. That emotional lens influences every decision, from the design to the flow of the day.
After around 25 years in the industry, Giorgia’s passion hasn’t faded — it has deepened.
“I love the moment when everything becomes real,” she shares. “The look on a couple’s face when they walk into a space that feels like their dream, made tangible.”
Wedding planning, for her, is the perfect balance of creativity and precision — design, storytelling, logistics, and human emotion woven together. It’s demanding, complex, and deeply rewarding.
The philosophy behind Boutique Weddings is clear and quietly powerful: listen deeply, plan intelligently, design with heart.
“We believe a wedding should feel like an extension of the couple, not a template.”
Rather than imposing a style, Giorgia and her team translate each couple’s story, culture, and personalities into a seamless experience. Whether it’s an elegant black-tie event or a relaxed multi-day celebration, what matters most is authenticity.
“We love weddings where there’s a true emotional connection — when we see that spark in the couple’s eyes.”
At Boutique Weddings, flexibility is essential. Every couple receives a custom-designed planning experience, shaped around their needs and priorities.
Their services include full-service wedding planning and production, design and styling, vendor sourcing and management, budget planning, timeline and logistics coordination, and on-site coordination with a full team during the wedding days.
Beyond that, the team offers concierge services and guest experience support — from hotels and transfers to welcome events and day-after brunches — and, in some cases, guidance for honeymoon planning.
“Our couples can always expect a tailored approach,” Giorgia says. “Nothing is one size fits all.”
Choosing a single “most memorable” wedding is impossible for Giorgia.
For her, what truly defines a memorable celebration is when guests feel the essence of the couple so clearly that they say, “This could only be their wedding.”
Those are the moments that stay.
Giorgia’s approach begins with deep discovery — understanding priorities, tastes, concerns, and what truly matters to the couple.
From there, she builds a clear vision, a realistic budget structure, a curated vendor team, and a detailed timeline — all guided by a calm, proactive planning process.
“We’re very hands-on and very discreet,” she explains. “Our goal is for clients to feel supported, informed, and excited — never overwhelmed.”
Boutique Weddings frequently works at some of Lake Como’s most iconic venues, including Villa del Balbianello, Villa Erba, and Villa Pizzo. The team also plans weddings along the Amalfi Coast, including locations such as Villa La Rondinaia, and throughout Italy — with growing international projects beyond its borders.
Unexpected issues are part of every wedding — weather changes, logistical restrictions, last-minute technical problems.
“What matters most is problem-solving quickly and calmly, without ever transferring stress to the couple,” Giorgia says.
Her clients should feel only confidence and trust, even when complex solutions are unfolding quietly behind the scenes.
Helping couples stay on budget starts with early prioritization.
Giorgia and her team establish a clear framework from the beginning, track costs transparently, identify must-haves versus nice-to-haves, and reallocate strategically when needed.
“When couples are aligned on priorities, staying on budget becomes much easier,” she explains. “And the results feel more intentional.”
Giorgia encourages couples to shift their focus.
“Think about what you want your guests to feel, not only what you want them to see.”
She advises choosing vendors who bring calm, avoiding unnecessary complexity, and protecting moments of connection during the day.
“The best weddings are not about doing more,” she says. “They’re about doing what truly reflects you.”
If she could speak to herself at the beginning of her career, Giorgia would emphasize balance.
This profession, she believes, requires passion — but also structure, resilience, and the ability to lead calmly under pressure.
While Italy remains extraordinary, Giorgia’s next dream is international expansion — particularly to the South of France or Monaco.
“A beautiful château or a seaside estate,” she imagines, “bringing our Italian approach to elegance and hospitality into a new destination.”
