Britt Jones, the founder of Britt Jones Co., shares her captivating origin story, beginning her venture into wedding planning during a pivotal time in her life—her own engagement. "I started my business 5 years ago in my senior year of college during my own engagement. During my bridal era, a thought came to me that I could potentially turn this season of life into a career," Britt recalls. 

The idea, though initially daunting, blossomed into a concrete career path driven by her passion and creative vision. "It seemed incredibly far-fetched at the time but with faith and determination, I can say that now that I am 5 years in, Britt Jones Co. has exceeded my wildest dreams. The first few weddings I planned were humble, but I am incredibly grateful that even so early in my career, couples trusted me to get the job done," she adds.

Britt's Philosophy and Approach to Wedding Planning

Britt's company is built on a foundation of deep-rooted values and a philosophy centered around service and creativity. "At Britt Jones Co., we approach every situation with a servant's heart. No matter how hard of a challenge we are faced with, we know that everything is figure-out-able if we maintain a positive outlook," Britt explains. 

This mindset has allowed her and her team to navigate the complexities of wedding planning, turning potential problems into opportunities for innovation. Britt is particularly fond of weddings that defy traditional norms: "The weddings I like to plan the most are where the couples aren't afraid to push the design envelope a bit."

Britt also discusses one of the significant challenges she faces in her role. "It can be challenging to be the bearer of bad news. Most of the time we are in the high, highs of the process with the client but we are also involved in the low, lows," she shares. Despite the highs and lows throughout the planning process, Britt emphasizes the importance of preparation and positivity. "We are oftentimes having to relay something to our client that might not be ideal news but if I have to do something like this, I always try to have a solution in my back pocket." This proactive approach underscores her commitment to service and her ability to handle any situation with grace and professionalism, ensuring that every wedding is a joyous and memorable event.

Britt elaborates on the comprehensive range of services her company offers, emphasizing her hands-on approach to each event. "Most of my clients are full service which means that I am involved in each and every part of the process," she states. Recently, she has seen a trend towards full weekend weddings, involving multiple events, which she finds incredibly exciting and rewarding. "I love seeing a vision go from emails and mood boards to a real-life event. That is definitely the cherry on top of each and every wedding day! However, the relationships built upon the way and the lifelong connections formed are truly what makes this career so special," Britt comments.

A Memorable Wedding Experience in Kauai

One of Britt's most memorable projects was a lavish 4-day wedding in Kauai, Hawaii. "Last year, I had the opportunity to go to Kauai, Hawaii on a 5-month notice to plan a dreamy 4-day multi-event wedding. We had a welcome party, rehearsal dinner, the wedding day, and then a day after brunch," she shares.

The bride's family had a deep connection to the location, which made the event even more special. "They completely welcomed me into their home with open arms and it was such a week filled with love. It was incredibly special and I was beyond thankful to have been apart of making that day come to fruition for them," Britt reminisces. This experience not only challenged her logistical skills but also deepened her appreciation for personal, meaningful wedding celebrations.

Working with Clients to Achieve Their Vision

Britt's client-centric approach is a cornerstone of her success. "During the wedding planning process, there is a lot of back and forth. I do my best to always have the clients best interest in mind and be incredibly honest on the things I believe are going to work and things I don't think are going to work as well," she asserts. This open line of communication builds trust and ensures that the final event reflects the couple's desires and exceeds their expectations. "That constant transparency, communication," she adds.

Additionally, Britt addresses financial transparency as a key aspect of her service. "I do my best to try and present budget expectations on the front end by providing my couples with a sample budget. I am very transparent by mentioning that this sample budget is not concrete, but it's more so a guide of where we can expect our numbers to trend," Britt explains. "I do my best to present options vs. making my couples use the same vendors."

Britt’s Dream Wedding Venues

When dreaming of future projects, Britt's aspirations soar to historic and iconic locations. "I LOVE London. It's one of my favorite cities therefore my dream wedding to plan would be a royal wedding at an iconic old church like Westminster Abbey or St. Paul's Cathedral," she fantasizes. She is also drawn to the charm of New York City and the New England coast, envisioning grand weddings in these storied settings.

“In Dallas, I love the Mason, Hotel Drover, Rosewood Mansion, the Nasher, the Olana, and the Arboretum. There's a ton of great private estates as well in Dallas!” she adds. “I also do a lot of destination and work primarily in the US and Europe. With that said, I do work at a lot of different venues a year which is fun that no wedding is ever the same.”
