For Alexa Kate Events, weddings have always felt like home. “I fell in love with the wedding world when I stepped into my first job as a bridal stylist while attending college,” she recalls. Though her career initially led her into fashion, the pull of weddings never left her. After welcoming her daughter, Alexa knew it was time to turn that passion into her life’s work.
“I dove in and haven’t looked back! I am so grateful to my couples who have trusted me and supported my growth,” she shares. That leap of faith became the foundation for Alexa Kate Events, a planning and design company where love stories are celebrated with intentionality and care.
When asked what she loves most about planning weddings, Alexa’s answer is immediate: “The people, the people, the people! The pretty is an honorable mention.”
This emphasis on human connection has shaped the heart of her company. Alexa describes her philosophy as “an experience of warmth and sincerity in the pursuit of beauty and celebration.” For her, every wedding is more than logistics—it’s a reflection of a couple’s life, story, and community.

Every wedding carries its own imprint. “Sometimes it’s a touching moment I’m privileged to witness or an insane mountain view that took my breath away,” Alexa says. For her, the magic isn’t always about grandeur—it’s about presence, meaning, and the privilege of being part of moments most people never see.
The hardest part? “Having to say ‘see you later’ to my incredible couples and their families. You build such a bond over the course of planning and it’s so wildly bittersweet post-celebration.”
Alexa knows that budgets can be overwhelming, but she has a simple system. “Set clear expectations and create priorities. Choose your non-negotiables and do them well while maintaining balance with items that aren’t top of list.”
She also encourages couples to rethink how they view expenses: “Always view weddings as cost per person versus a blanket overall cost. Breaking down investment by guest can be an eye opener.”

Like many creatives, Alexa finds herself inspired by places that spark wonder. “My dream wedding venue changes every week! This week I’m eager to create at Wildflower Farms,” she says with a smile.
When asked about local talent, she is quick to highlight two favorites in Columbus: Ingeborg Flora Co and PassiFlora. “They both bring such artistry to their florals,” Alexa notes, underlining the collaborative spirit that defines her work.
