Svetlana Uldrichova’s path to becoming one of the most respected wedding planners in the Czech Republic was not accidental—it was an inner calling. “My story began with a search for a career that would truly express who I am and be in harmony with my essence,” she shares.
Drawn to beauty, human connection, and meaningful experiences, Svetlana realized that wedding planning was the perfect blend of all three. “The very first wedding I planned was small and intimate, but I still remember the feeling—the joy of creating a day where everything simply flows,” she recalls. “That joy has never left me—it’s what continues to inspire me.”
Since founding Boutique Weddings Prague almost twenty years ago, Svetlana has orchestrated over 330 celebrations, each one unique and deeply personal. For her, “Weddings are not just events. They are living stories, woven with love, culture, elegance, and memories that last for generations.”
When asked what she loves most about wedding planning, Svetlana doesn’t hesitate: it’s the creative process. “I love creating an original wedding concept—the vision of a celebration that is just as unique as my clients and their love story.”
She believes that no two weddings should ever feel alike. “Every couple is different, and so their wedding should never feel generic. I enjoy transforming their personalities, backgrounds, and dreams into a design and atmosphere that feels tailor-made and unrepeatable.”
From the first spark of an idea to seeing it come alive, Svetlana describes the process as “pure magic—the kind that comes when creativity meets emotion and everything aligns perfectly.”
The essence of Boutique Weddings Prague lies in one belief: a wedding should be more than a beautiful event—it should be a shared experience. “The most meaningful moment for me is when a true atmosphere of togetherness arises—when families and friends share love, joy, and connection,” she explains.
Svetlana’s approach is deeply human. “That is when I know a wedding has fulfilled its true purpose—uniting two lives and creating lasting bonds between their loved ones.”
Her favorite weddings to plan? “Those where beauty and elegance are woven with genuine emotion. I am passionate about celebrations that are not only visually stunning but also deeply heartfelt.”
Unlike many planners, Svetlana doesn’t believe in rigid packages. “Our services are highly customized, and we adapt them fully to the vision and needs of each couple.”
She and her team specialize in full wedding planning, focusing on both design and guest experience. “This can include everything from venue scouting, budget management, and logistics, to creative direction, entertainment, and multi-day guest experiences.”
Her guiding principle is simple yet profound: “Each celebration is unique, and so is the level of support and personalization we provide.”
Among hundreds of weddings, one stands out vividly in Svetlana’s memory. “One of the most memorable weddings I’ve ever planned was for Catherine and Donovan from Texas,” she recalls warmly.
Their wedding at Prague Castle turned into a breathtaking celebration. “It felt like a royal wedding—filled with elegance, emotion, and moments that will never be forgotten. Even today, their guests still speak about it as a once-in-a-lifetime experience.”
Svetlana’s secret to success lies in communication. “My approach is based on very close and continuous connection with my clients. We speak often, meet regularly, and consult every detail together.”
She believes that true harmony between planner and couple transforms everything. “When that trust and alignment are there, we become more than planner and couple—we become a perfectly tuned team. That’s when the process feels effortless and deeply rewarding.”
Her preferred venues? “Chateau Mcely, Troja Chateau, Prague Castle, Bon Repos Chateau, and Lobkowicz Palace—they each carry their own soul.”
Svetlana doesn’t shy away from challenges. “The pandemic years were some of the hardest. Restrictions kept changing, and couples had to reschedule or reinvent their weddings entirely. It took enormous flexibility and communication to keep everyone calm.”
She also recalls planning a 200-guest American–Indian wedding in just three months. “Normally, such a wedding takes over a year to plan, but with the right structure, trusted vendors, and a clear vision, we made it happen. It became an unforgettable multi-day celebration.”
When it comes to budgeting, Svetlana’s advice is both practical and wise: “Always start with your overall budget and divide it among the essentials before choosing a venue. Otherwise, couples often fall in love with a location and then realize there’s not enough left for everything else.”
Her broader guidance, however, is about mindset. “Be authentic and true to yourselves. Let your wedding tell your love story. Don’t stress over perfection—remember why you’re getting married in the first place. Enjoy every moment of the journey.”
If she could speak to her younger self, Svetlana would say, “Trust the process, but also trust yourself.”
Her dream venues to design weddings? Chateau Mcely and Lobkowicz Palace—both timeless, majestic, and steeped in history.
As a planner deeply rooted in the Czech wedding scene, Svetlana also values collaboration. “Yes, I’d be delighted to recommend photographers, videographers, florists, and designers. I know them all very well,” she says with a smile.
For her, weddings are not just about logistics—they are about creating art together. And through Boutique Weddings Prague, Svetlana continues to craft celebrations that embody grace, meaning, and unforgettable beauty.
