Becky’s Brides journey into wedding planning wasn’t born in the ballroom of a grand estate or the pages of a bridal magazine — it began in the quiet structure of spreadsheets and numbers. “I actually started my career as an accountant,” she reflects. But as fate would have it, her creative spirit found its way through a side-step into marketing and event coordination, planting the seed that would later grow into something far more personal, beautiful, and life-changing.
One corporate event led to another. Then came the turning point.
“A co-worker asked me to help her plan her wedding, and after that I was hooked!”
That first ‘yes’ was just the beginning. In 2011, Becky officially launched Becky’s Brides, and since then, she’s been orchestrating celebrations with a blend of poise, warmth, and heartfelt Southern hospitality.
“I loved the thought of getting to know couples and helping them plan a day that was a reflection of their personalities and a celebration of their love story.”
Now, with 14 years of experience, Becky’s vision has matured into a signature style of wedding planning that emphasizes authenticity, kindness, and unforgettable detail — a philosophy rooted in the soul of the South.
In a world saturated with fleeting trends and Pinterest overload, Becky remains devoted to timeless values.
“Relationships over everything. Kindness matters. Southern hospitality is the cornerstone of every great event.”
Becky’s Brides is not a volume-based business. She and her team choose intentionality over scale, serving a maximum of 15 couples a year. This allows for deep connections with clients — the kind of bond where wedding planners become part of the family.
“We build relationships with the best couples in the South.”
That human connection is the driving force behind Becky’s design process. Every celebration begins with understanding who the couple is — far beyond the wedding aesthetic.
“We love getting to know them! What their style is outside of their wedding, what their home furnishings look like, what they do on date nights, how they spend their free time. This helps us plan and design a wedding that is personal to them.”
From chic modern soirées to romantic garden celebrations, Becky’s Brides specializes in full-service wedding planning and design. And while each wedding is custom-crafted, Becky’s commitment to staying within a couple’s budget is unwavering.
“Determine their priorities early on and splurge in those areas and not in the areas that aren’t as important to them, if budget does not allow for it.”
But what truly sets Becky apart is the way she embraces the unexpected. One of her most unforgettable events involved transforming a parking lot — yes, a parking lot — into a fairytale ceremony.
“We turned a parking lot into a courtyard-inspired wedding ceremony. We had an overnight production (in the rain!) flooring the parking lot followed by a full day of trellis work to create the courtyard feel. It was so creative and something no one could have ever imagined!”
It’s no surprise then that even amidst high-pressure logistics and unpredictable weather, she remains calm, solution-focused, and creatively inspired.
“The weather, haha!” she jokes when asked about her biggest challenge. “But we always find a way.”
While Becky has designed weddings at many cherished venues, there’s one place that feels like home.
“We work at Hamilton Place at Pursell Farms the most and we love it!”
Still, she dreams of future celebrations in breathtaking locations like The Ritz Amelia Island, The Ritz Lake Oconee, and intimate private residences that tell their own unique story.
To new couples currently planning their wedding, Becky offers a refreshing, grounded reminder.
“Your wedding is such an important celebration, but once it’s over your marriage is the most important thing. Be sure to take time during the process to continue to date each other and NOT talk about the wedding.”
And for aspiring planners hoping to follow in her footsteps?
“Treat every single wedding like it’s the Super Bowl. And treat your vendors with kindness and respect, every single time. A successful wedding day, and therefore a successful business, is a team effort. None of us can do it alone.”
What started with one corporate project and a leap of faith has become a beacon of excellence in the Southern wedding industry.
