Some creative paths arrive quietly, almost like a whisper. Yerko Osorio began in a place you wouldn’t expect: the world of Civil Engineering.
“I live in Santiago de Chile,” he recalls, “and it all started while I was studying Civil Engineering, but the love for photography made me change course.”
That decision, brave and instinctive, turned into a life-defining pivot. What followed was a steady climb powered by craft, curiosity, and a sensitivity toward human connection.
Today, Yerko stands recognized among the top photographers on platforms like MyWed and Fearless Photographers, celebrated globally for his visual language and for the sincerity he brings into every frame.
When Yerko speaks about time, his tone carries the steadiness of someone who has lived every season of the profession.
“I have been working as a wedding photographer for 12 years,” he says. Not rushed, not hesitant — simply grounded.
And within these years, he has photographed weddings across Chile, traveled to the United States, and, as he shares, hopes to “start a route to Europe” to expand his artistic map.
Yerko’s signature is a fusion of worlds — the crisp sophistication of editorial photography and the atmospheric energy of cinema.
His images lean into structure, but never stiffness; into beauty, but never artificiality. There’s movement, breath, and a rhythm that feels alive.
The technical side of this vision is just as intentional.
“I use Nikon cameras,” he shares, “and something very important for me is to complement it with continuous lighting like Ninelite and Aputure.”
This choice of lighting isn’t about effects — it’s about presence. A scene that feels naturally illuminated, yet subtly enhanced, letting the couple remain at the center of the story.
In an era where heavy editing is everywhere, Yerko stands firmly in the camp of authenticity.
“Post-processing of color, lights and shadows,” he says, “nothing that changes much of what was experienced that day.”
It’s a philosophy rooted in respect — the belief that the wedding day already contains everything meaningful. His role is not to overwrite it, but to interpret it.
Yerko loves photography, but he loves people even more.
“I like to meet different types of people and my work in marriages achieves just that,” he shares. “Each couple is a new world and accompanying them on such a special day is a gift.”
This mindset shapes his entire creative process. With each wedding, he steps into someone else’s universe — their humor, their tenderness, their family rituals — and photographs from the inside, not from the margins.
Yerko’s workflow is deliberate and transparent.
“First I show a very clear work,” he explains. “Then in a meeting we fine-tune details. The idea is to create a perfect mold for the couple.”
He listens deeply, aligning preferences, expectations, and artistic direction.
And when couples need something tailored, Yerko is all in.
“Obviously, I'm very open to new ideas,” he smiles. Custom packages, new formats, new destinations — he thrives in the space where creativity meets collaboration.
When asked what he would tell his younger self, Yerko doesn’t hesitate.
Listen more than talk,” he says.
It’s the kind of advice that can shape an entire career — an understanding that great photography is equal parts intuition, humility, and partnership.
Yerko believes preparation is a gift — for everyone.
“Plan ahead,” he advises.
A well-prepared couple breathes easier, moves better, and enjoys more. And a prepared team?
They create with precision.
Yerko’s passport is no stranger to weddings abroad.
“Of course!” he says when asked if he photographs destination weddings.
His favorites?
“Europe and the United States are my favorite destinations.”
It’s easy to imagine his editorial–cinematic eye capturing Tuscan gardens, Parisian terraces, or the glowing sandstone of the American Southwest.
Yerko Osorio’s work is more than technique or style. It’s a blend of patience, clarity, and emotional intelligence — a photographer who steps into each wedding with gratitude and leaves with a story told in light.
