Sissi Tundo and Carmela Capriati are more than wedding photographers—they’re partners in every sense of the word and the creative minds behind Le Vélo Fotografia. “Our adventure began in the photography studio we worked for in 2006,” they recall. Their shared passion for capturing meaningful moments quickly turned into a shared dream: to create something uniquely their own under the name Le Vélo Fotografia.
For Sissi and Carmela, their work is all about storytelling. “We like to capture Beauty in all its forms,” they say. “From the most intimate moments of preparation to moments of great emotion when the couple says: YES, I DO! at the smiling moment of the confetti throwing, at the deepest moment of the couple photos at sunset, we breathe together this eternal beauty to create unique moments.”
Their photography style is a blend of reportage and artistry, designed to document weddings with a delicate and unobtrusive touch. “We love working with natural light creating bright, dreamy, and romantic images that tell a story, your story,” they emphasize.
Details play a central role in their process. “For us every single couple, every single story, every detail is important,” Sissi shares. “The details, in fact, help to tell the story of your wedding and are often among the favorite images of our couples to include in the album and/or prints.”
“The right mix of reportage and artistic photography, with a delicate, sensitive and never intrusive approach,” Carmela adds on their style. “Ours is a true story of the day, made of smiles, emotions, and unrepeatable moments that make your wedding unique. The most beautiful part of our work, after the creative part, is the emotional experience.”
“We have always used Nikon,” Carmela says with a smile. Their toolkit includes fixed lenses, zooms, flash setups, and even film cameras. This mix of modern and traditional equipment gives their work a timeless yet fresh aesthetic.
When it comes to post-processing, they take a hands-on approach. “We apply our "Le velo" filter and correct every single photo,” Sissi explains. But they emphasize that their process goes far beyond filters. “We don't let the AI choose the photos for us because we were at the wedding and we know exactly what that photo means at that moment, the AI can never know this information.”
For Sissi and Carmela, photography is as much about people as it is about pictures. “The relationship with our clients,” they say, is the most rewarding part of the work. “Knowing their stories, and understanding what they are looking for from the photographer is always stimulating. We love the attention to detail and nothing is left to chance.”
Before every wedding, they schedule a video call to establish a personal connection. “The first impact is very important,” Sissi explains. “We ask questions to understand what the client wants and we always interface with their wedding planners.”
They also tailor their services to fit each couple’s unique needs. Their standard coverage is around 10 hours “but we can customize this aspect too,” they smile.
Their philosophy is simple: every wedding is one of a kind. From the confetti toss to the golden-hour couple portraits, Sissi and Carmela focus on creating images that couples will treasure forever.
While Le Vélo Fotografia primarily operates in Italy, Sissi and Carmela are eager to explore new destinations. “We would like to do destination weddings in Dubai and the USA,” they share.
