For Michèle Schiermann, photography has always been more than an art—it’s a way of feeling.
“I’m based in beautiful Munich,” she begins, “but my heart has always been drawn to Italian culture — its warmth, aesthetics, and sense of timeless romance.”
It was her older sister — also a photographer — who sparked that first creative flame. “She’s my biggest inspiration,” Michèle recalls. “I discovered my passion for capturing emotions when I was just 14.” What started as a teenage curiosity evolved into a lifelong pursuit of light, love, and human connection.
Since officially capturing weddings in 2018, Michèle has traveled across Europe, telling love stories that feel both cinematic and deeply intimate. “I’m deeply grateful for every opportunity to travel — near and far — to tell love stories through my lens,” she shares.
Every artist has a defining vision. For Michèle, it’s environmental storytelling — a philosophy that allows love and landscape to coexist harmoniously in one frame.
Her images have a quiet sophistication — timeless, cinematic wedding photography that blends editorial elegance with documentary intimacy. Soft natural light and refined detail define her visual language. “I want each photograph to feel both personal and timeless,” she adds.
When it comes to tools, Michèle’s gear is simple yet powerful:
Nikon Z6ii with 28mm, 35mm, 50mm, and 85mm lenses, and a Profoto A10 flash.
But it’s her eye for light that makes all the difference. “Shoot as much as possible and focus on understanding light — it’s the foundation of everything,” she advises.
Her post-production process reflects that same sensitivity. “While I use Neurapix as part of my workflow, I edit every image by hand. Cropping is one of my favorite parts — it can turn a frame into an entirely new photograph. I meticulously refine each detail until it feels just right.”
What she loves most about her craft isn’t the travel, or even the aesthetics — it’s the human connection.
“I love diving into other people’s love stories while staying quietly hidden behind my camera,” Michèle says. “I absorb all the little nuances and philosophies of their connection and make it my goal to capture that magic. Because in the end, every love has its own unique vibe.”
That sensitivity extends to her approach with clients. “It’s very important to me that we speak the same creative language,” she explains. “Once we share the same vision and understanding of aesthetics, everything else falls into place naturally. Beyond that, I truly value a warm and kind exchange throughout the process.”
And when asked whether she offers custom packages, her enthusiasm is clear:
Reflecting on her journey, Michèle has heartfelt advice for young photographers just starting out.
“Try to gain as much wedding experience as you can, even if that means starting out as a second shooter,” she says. “It’s so important to learn how to anticipate moments — like knowing that right after a speech, everyone will raise their glasses for a toast.”
Her tone softens with a smile as she adds,
“Above all, don’t lose your mind if you struggle with your editing style. We’ve all been there; it simply takes time for that fruit to ripen.”
For couples preparing for their photo session, Michèle offers advice that’s both practical and poetic.
“Choose an outfit that makes you feel comfortable and confident, while also blending naturally with the environment,” she says. “I always like to get to know a bit about you as a couple — your energy, your story, your little ingredients — so that the session truly reflects who you are.”
Michèle’s passion for destination weddings shines brightly. “Yes, with my full heart!” she exclaims when asked if she travels for weddings.
Her favorite locations?
“Villa Cetinale in Tuscany and Sublime Comporta in Portugal,” she shares instantly.
Each destination speaks to her love of light, texture, and authenticity. “There’s something magical about places that feel timeless yet alive — where history and emotion meet in the frame,” she reflects.
For Michèle, every wedding is a living story — not just of two people, but of place, light, and feeling.
Through her lens, fleeting moments become eternal, and love becomes art.
Her work reminds us that the most powerful images are not only seen but felt — deep within the heart.
