"I was interested in photography in high school," Sarah recalls, her voice tinged with the warmth of nostalgia. "I worked for a photographer all through college, and started my own business soon after I graduated." It was a leap of faith that would shape the course of her life. "I have never had a different career and wouldn't trade it! I have been capturing weddings for almost 20 years and I still manage to be inspired by each client in some way!”

Sarah's artistry lies in her ability to blend the classic with the contemporary, creating images that are at once timeless and vibrantly alive. Her style is "Classic, light-filled yet true to color, natural/genuine in both the posed and candid moments," she explains, her words painting a vivid picture of her aesthetic.

But what truly sets her apart is her commitment to the human touch. "All images are processed by hand in our studio, no outsourcing or AI," she affirms, a testament to her dedication to craftsmanship in an age of automation.

For Sarah, the joy of photography lies in the thrill of the hunt, the chase for that perfect moment. "I work well under pressure," she confesses, a hint of exhilaration dancing in her voice. "Although I don't really get nervous to shoot anymore, I love showing up to a new place and being inspired by what is around me! I love getting to know my clients and seeing all the wonderful things that they do beyond their wedding day."

As for destination weddings Sarah reflects, her voice carrying the echo of distant horizons, “I love a good destination wedding/elopement!  I have done LOTS over the years but I would say my top two favorites are Lake Como, Italy, and Victoria Falls in Zambia.”

Forging Connections

But Sarah's true magic lies in her ability to forge connections with her subjects, to create an environment where they can shed their inhibitions and reveal their authentic selves. "My goal is to build an easy and joyful environment for clients, both when we are shooting and when we are not," she explains. "When someone is at ease with you, it is easier for them to drop their guard in front of the camera, and this is the best way to capture their genuine spirit."

Her approach is tailored to each client, a process she cherishes. "Every client is different so I take time to understand their inspiration so we can approach every wedding with individual attention."

With a portfolio spanning two decades and encompassing numerous destination weddings, Sarah has honed her craft to perfection. "I want to make sure you get everything you need and nothing you don't!” she admits.

Her advice to clients is simple yet profound: "Don't overthink it :) Make sure you hire a photographer who you feel comfortable with and is very good at posing clients in a natural way."
