For over ten years, Tyler Branch has been capturing love stories in breathtaking locations across the world. As a photographer who values versatility, Tyler carries around six different film cameras at any given time, ranging from point-and-shoot 35mm to medium format. When it comes to digital photography, he opts for the Fuji GFX100s with native lenses, ensuring every shot is captured with precision and clarity.
In an age where heavy editing is common, Tyler keeps things minimal. “Pretty minimal stuff. Subtle S curve with colors to match film.” This approach preserves the authenticity of each moment while enhancing the natural beauty of the images.
What drives Tyler’s passion for photography? The privilege of documenting one of the most significant days in people’s lives. “Having the opportunity to photograph nuptials around the world was a life arch I didn’t see coming. Being a part of the most important day of people’s lives has given me a deep gratitude for the moments I get to document.”
For Tyler, the key to a great wedding photography experience is ensuring that both he and his clients are excited about the imagery. “Having a passion for creating beautiful imagery I’m fired up on is upstream of my clients having an amazing experience with me.”
Understanding how a couple feels about being photographed plays a crucial role in his process. “I like to work with my clients to understand some of their feelings around being photographed, and that better informs me for the whole experience.” This thoughtful approach helps create a relaxed, enjoyable atmosphere, allowing couples to be their true selves in front of the camera.
Weddings are unique, and so are the photography needs of each couple. Tyler embraces the flexibility of crafting customized packages, ensuring that his clients receive exactly what they need. “Absolutely.”
