For some, photography is a profession. For others, it’s a passion. But for the co-founder of Lux Visual Storytellers, it’s something even deeper—a legacy passed down through generations, an emotional language, and a lifelong devotion to honoring truth through art.

“Though I was born in Colombia, I was adopted and now live in the historic city of Bruges, Belgium,” she shares. “My journey into photography began early—through the influence of my grandfather, who was a newspaper photographer. After he passed away when I was six, I found comfort in retreating to his darkroom.”

It was there—amid the quiet scent of chemicals and the ghostly emergence of images on paper—that something awakened.

“I was mesmerized by the magic of images slowly appearing on paper, the smell of the chemicals, the old cameras, the photo enlarger—it was like stepping into another world. That’s where I fell in love with photography.”

“My goal is always to create photographs that are not only beautiful, but meaningful.”

At just 15, she began shooting with her first camera. But even before committing to photography professionally, the arts were already in her veins. A master’s degree in sculpture and an internship with avant-garde fashion designer Iris van Herpen left indelible marks on her visual instincts.

“My background in fine art and fashion fuels my passion for composition—lines, shapes, textures, colors, light, and shadow. I’m drawn to anything that brings visual harmony, simplicity, and character.”

This foundation gives Lux Visual Storytellers a signature blend—refined yet raw, carefully composed yet deeply honest.

“You could say my style is a fusion of fashion-inspired art and honest storytelling. I pay close attention to light, shadow, texture, and color, and I work in a calm, unobtrusive way that allows people to just be themselves.”

“Over the years, I've had the privilege of capturing countless love stories across different cultures and countries.”

Since 2011, she has been photographing weddings full-time, and in 2015, she and her husband officially launched Lux Visual Storytellers. Together, they not only raise four beautiful children—Matteo, Dantes, Malena, and Gia—but also a creative collective dedicated to telling love stories in the most artful way possible.

“With more than a decade of experience, I’ve grown not only as a photographer but also as a storyteller—always striving to create meaningful, lasting imagery for every couple.”

Thanks to their extensive network of vendors and planners across the Benelux region, the duo operates as part of a seamless creative ecosystem.

“Because of the size and reach of our collective, we’ve encountered just about every possible wedding scenario—from unexpected weather changes to tight timelines—and we know exactly how to handle each situation calmly and professionally.”

“I want each image to feel true, intimate, and full of soul.”

The aesthetic at Lux is unmistakable. Inspired by fashion editorials but anchored in emotional reality, each frame is crafted with care.

“My photography style is deeply inspired by fashion editorials—I love clean compositions, elegant lines, beautiful textures, and the way light shapes emotion.”

Yet beyond the artfulness, she’s always observing—quietly documenting the spontaneous, unrepeatable moments of joy, tenderness, and connection.

“At the same time, I balance that visual elegance with a documentary approach—capturing real, raw moments as they naturally unfold. Nothing is overly posed or forced.”

“It’s emotional, and honestly, I often have to hide my tears behind the camera during the ceremony—I’m a sensitive soul!”

There’s a vulnerability in her storytelling. Not just in her subjects—but in herself. Being present at such intimate moments of a couple’s life has shaped her, and each wedding becomes a mirror for human connection.

“What I love most is being invited into one of the most important days in someone’s life. It’s such an honor to witness not just their love as a couple, but also who they are as individuals—their personalities, their energy, their story.”

While she loves observing things as they unfold, she also finds deep joy in creating beauty with intention.

“I also really enjoy photographing the couple in a more editorial, fashion-inspired way—creating something striking and unique for them that they’ll treasure forever.”

“Communication is absolutely key!”

From the first meeting to the final delivery, every part of the Lux experience is intentional. It’s rooted in trust, preparation, and deep listening.

“I believe great photography starts with connection and communication. That’s why I have multiple meetings with each couple to make sure everything feels personal and their wishes are truly understood.”

Clients are encouraged to share moodboards for their wedding as a whole—not just photography—so that every detail aligns with their vision.

“I also help them with timeline planning. Many couples aren’t sure how much time each part of the day really takes, so I guide them through it to ensure the day flows smoothly and allows for the best lighting and most relaxed experience.”

“Authenticity always shines through in your photos.”

When asked for advice for couples preparing for their big day, her answer is as heartfelt as her images.

“Stay in close contact with your suppliers and trust their expertise—they’re there to help you create not only beautiful photos but also moments where you can truly relax and enjoy your day.”

And most of all: “Do it your way! There’s no one ‘right’ way to celebrate. This is your day, so make decisions that feel true to you and your story.”

“Whether it’s a large destination wedding or an intimate elopement, we work closely with our clients to design a package that fits their day perfectly.”

Customization is second nature to Lux. No two couples are the same, and neither are their stories.

“Flexibility and personalization are key to how we operate.”

They work with both grand-scale celebrations and deeply personal events, offering tailored packages that reflect each client’s unique needs.

“We’ve been fortunate to capture love stories in some truly magical places.”

From Cuba to Lake Como, from France’s countryside to the snowy Swiss Alps, the world has been a canvas for Lux’s lens.

“One of my personal favorites has been Iceland, with its dramatic glaciers, volcanic fields, and otherworldly beauty—it’s like shooting on another planet.”

Her dream destinations? “I dream of creating stories in New Zealand, with its wild, sweeping landscapes, or the vibrant, colorful energy of Mexico.”

“Making people happy through my work is what drives me.”

In a world where weddings come and go, the photos remain. They become the vessels of memory, the evidence of love, and the proof that beauty exists in the quiet and unguarded.

With every frame, Lux Visual Storytellers honors that truth—through light, legacy, and love.
