Oliver Fly's journey into the world of photography began uniquely and scenically on the exotic island of Madagascar. It was there, amid its lush landscapes and warm-hearted people, that Oliver's passion for capturing life's fleeting moments first ignited. "I fell in love with this island," Oliver recalls. "The people I met along the way, the breathtaking landscape and the caring enchanting atmosphere, all played a role in the work I do today." Now based in Paris, Oliver continues to draw significant inspiration from the natural world, considering each snapshot a precious gift of memory preserved.
Describing his own style, Oliver uses words like "delicate," "colorful," "soothing," and highlights his "love for details." These qualities make his photographs not just images but stories told through hues and shades.
His toolkit is nothing short of professional-grade, featuring high-end cameras such as the Contax 645 and Sony A1, paired with prime lenses. These tools help Oliver capture the world as he sees it—full of color, texture, and emotion. In post-processing, Oliver adds a bespoke preset, a signature touch that refines each image into what he terms his 'Fine Art style.'
For Oliver, photography is much more than a profession—it's a way of traveling through time. "I want my clients to be transported to this exact same place months, even years later, only by looking at their pictures," Oliver states passionately. He sees his role as a custodian of memories, capturing fleeting smiles and intimate glances that tell the enduring stories of love and joy.
"This feeling, these smiles, their love story from my couples from all over the world, is truly what drives me everyday," he shares, revealing the deep emotional connection he feels towards his craft and clientele.
When it comes to working with clients, Oliver emphasizes the critical role of communication. "There's no secret—communication is key!" he asserts.
Oliver is adept at managing large-scale, multi-day events, offering comprehensive coverage that extends beyond the wedding day to include welcome events, rehearsal dinners, brunches, and even pool parties. Regarding his services, he states, "Each wedding is unique and tailor-made to my clients to reflect their wedding."
Oliver exclusively photographs destination weddings, with a particular fondness for Italy—from the serene waters of Lake Como to the dramatic cliffs of the Amalfi Coast. "Italy has its enchanting charm that will always captivate my soul," he confesses.
