Some paths are carefully planned. Others reveal themselves unexpectedly — in a moment, a decision, or even a gift.

For Nitin Dangwal, founder of Shutterink Photography, everything began with something simple.

“I am a husband, father, an engineer turned photographer. I stumbled upon photography in 2008 when my wife gifted me a dslr.”

What seemed like a small moment soon became something life-changing.

“Who knew that few years later, that decision would be a turning point of my life. Leaving a career in IT and pursuing a dream in wedding photography.”

A Journey That Crossed Continents

Before weddings became the center of his work, Nitin’s photography began with landscapes — quiet, expansive, and deeply observational.

“I started as a landscape photographer shooting mostly in Rhode Island, New Hampshire and vermont in the USA.”

That phase shaped his eye — teaching patience, composition, and the beauty of natural light.

In 2013, everything shifted again.

I returned to India in 2013 and I along with my partner Sandeep Mohan picked a wedding assignment.

What followed was not just a new direction, but a new way of seeing.

“Since then it has been a wonderful journey, helping us see things in a different perspective.”

Eighteen Years Behind the Camera

Time has played an important role in shaping his approach.

“Been shooting since 2008 so over 18 years now. Though I started shooting professionally in 2013.”

With every wedding, every couple, and every story, the perspective has deepened — not just technically, but emotionally.

A Balance Between Real and Refined

Shutterink Photography’s style lives in a thoughtful balance — between capturing reality and elevating it.

“Our style is a fine balance of documentary, mixed with beautiful portraits.”

There is space for both spontaneity and intention, allowing the story to unfold naturally while still creating images that feel composed and timeless.

Keeping It Simple, Keeping It Real

The tools remain straightforward, allowing the focus to stay on the moment itself.

“We use Canon mirrorless cameras.”

But what truly defines the work happens after the image is captured.

“We keep our images to closest to natural tones while maintaining our artistic tones.”

Restraint becomes a key part of the process.

“We don't like over saturated or over edited images.”

The goal is always clarity, honesty, and a timeless feel.

The Joy of Being Surrounded by Love

For Nitin, the beauty of this profession goes beyond photography itself.

“Well being surrounded by people in love, in their happy zone and who are looking forward to getting their moments documented, smiles all around, in certain ways being wedding photographer is among world's best profession to be in.”

It is not just about capturing images — it is about being present in moments filled with joy, connection, and emotion.

Understanding Before Creating

Every wedding begins with a conversation.

We setup a detailed discussion session with client, going through the kind of photos that connect with them and the photos that they don't like much.

This process helps build a shared vision.

“This helps to understand their taste and perspective and helps us to adapt better.”

From there, the work becomes more intuitive — shaped by understanding rather than assumption.

A Personalized Approach to Every Wedding

No two weddings are the same, and Shutterink Photography embraces that fully.

“Yes of course. Every wedding is different and every couple is different.”

Flexibility allows the work to stay personal.

“So each wedding requires certain level of customization. Having a detailed discussion with the couples helps to create a package closest to their needs.”

Looking Back with Simplicity

If there is one piece of advice Nitin would give to himself at the start, it is refreshingly honest.

“Have more fun. Think less, do more.”

A reminder that sometimes, the best growth comes from simply doing — and enjoying the process along the way.

Being Yourself in Front of the Camera

For couples, his advice is just as simple.

“Be yourself and enjoy being in front of camera.”

Because the most meaningful photographs are not created — they are lived.

Stories Across Destinations

Travel continues to shape the work, bringing new environments and perspectives into each story.

Yes, we do. We have shot extensively in Rajasthan, India. We have shot in south asian countries as well.

Certain places leave a lasting impression.

“We love to shoot in PhuQuoc.”

And some remain on the horizon — waiting to become part of the journey.

“Though we have not yet shot a wedding in Lake Como, it would be our dream destination.”

In the world of Shutterink Photography, everything comes back to something simple — real moments, real people, real stories.

Captured honestly. Preserved naturally. Remembered forever.
