Madeline Serio, founder and lead photographer of Madeline Serio Photography, embarked on her professional journey in 2018. Since then, she has been creating meaningful and artistic images that stand as cherished memories for couples on their wedding day. Her style of photography is an artful blend of candid moments and carefully guided portraits, designed to make her couples feel both relaxed and beautifully captured.

A Blend of Candid Moments and Effortless Portraits

"I tell all of my clients that they can expect mix of guided and candid moments being captured," says Madeline. "Making sure that my couple is actually enjoying & experiencing their wedding day will always come first but my couples also appreciate my guidance at times." With a natural eye for details and a passion for capturing the emotional core of each event, Madeline ensures that every couple walks away with a gallery that tells the full story of their wedding day — from the grand moments to the subtle, fleeting ones.

Madeline’s photography style focuses on allowing couples to feel comfortable, giving them space to truly enjoy their day while also stepping in to guide them through certain moments.

"My wedding galleries are a blend of candid moments that let you re-live every part of your day and effortless portraits," she explains. "I am always searching for unique ways to capture all of the details that make up a wedding day." This approach results in a series of images that feel authentic, allowing the couples to see not only how they looked, but how they felt on one of the most important days of their lives.

Equipment: The Tools Behind the Magic

Madeline’s love for her craft extends to the tools she uses. Her primary setup is a Fujifilm GFX 5s ii with a 55mm 1.7 lens — equipment chosen to ensure she can capture the day in vivid, true-to-life color.

"When it comes to the overall editing and look of my work, I am always aiming for true-to-life colors with a kiss of warmth," Madeline shares. "I am really drawn to the bold and vibrant colors of film and use those tones as inspiration in my own work." This balance of technology and artistry is a hallmark of Madeline Serio Photography, where every image is crafted with care, from the click of the shutter to the final polish during post-processing.

Building Relationships

For Madeline, photography is much more than taking pictures — it’s about connecting with people. When she first started photographing weddings, she was struck by how deeply she enjoyed the relationships she built with her clients.

"I absolutely love the people aspect of this job. When I first started and was doing three weddings a weekend, I could be meeting anywhere from 300-600 people across three events. I am always meeting all of my couples favorite  people and that is such an honor to be brought in and capture those relationship," Madeline says. "Weddings are always filled with so much excitement and joy so I really appreciate being able to see that amazing side of people. Having the added bonus of capturing and creating art out of the love and emotion at weddings is the greatest honor and I truly love what I do."

Madeline’s genuine love for people and her clients comes through in her work. Weddings, with all their excitement and emotion, provide the perfect backdrop for her to not only create beautiful images but to witness the most joyful moments in people’s lives.

Capturing Every Couple’s Unique Story

Madeline prides herself on her ability to tailor her work to the needs and personalities of each couple. "I am drawn to non-traditional ideas and bold colors but overall, I love weddings that truly reflect the couple more than whatever the current trends are," she explains. "I develop a close relationship with my couples throughout the planning process and it really helps to create a comfortable environment for everyone."

She emphasizes the importance of creating a comfortable space where couples can feel relaxed, especially on such an emotional day. "It takes alot of vulnerability to be photographed on one of the most emotional days you'll experience so my goal is to make it as effortless as possible," Madeline adds.

By cultivating these relationships, she is able to help couples truly enjoy their wedding day while ensuring the photographs reflect their personalities and the unique energy of the event.

Flexibility and Customization

Madeline’s flexibility is a key reason why couples choose her to capture their special day. Whether it’s a large weekend event or an intimate ceremony, she creates custom packages to ensure her clients receive exactly what they need.

"I always create custom packages for my couples! Every couple and every wedding will require something a little bit different so we do custom proposals," she explains. "Some couples want a full weekend of coverage with all the bells & whistles while others might only need a few hours."

Her packages often include extended coverage, and Madeline especially enjoys capturing more intimate moments during events like rehearsal dinners and the increasingly popular day-after brunches. "I have always love photographing rehearsal dinners and I am really enjoying the day-after brunch or low-key events to end the weekend!" she says.

A Global Perspective

A significant part of Madeline’s portfolio includes destination weddings, something she has developed a deep passion for over the years. "I love destination weddings!" she exclaims. "A good majority of my work is outside of my home state and I am so grateful to get to see the world this way. I am always drawn to warm and sunny destinations and appreciate European architecture."

Her enthusiasm for travel and diverse locations gives Madeline’s photography a unique touch, as she adapts her skills to the varying backdrops and cultures of each destination.
