When art meets intention, something timeless is created. For over a decade, Mohit Dasaur — the visionary behind Impressions by Mohit — has been transforming wedding photography into something deeper: a curated experience of legacy, emotion, and refined style.
Based in Canada and available worldwide, Mohit travels the globe to capture multicultural, multi-day celebrations with a signature editorial flair. His lens doesn’t just freeze moments — it crafts heirlooms that echo across generations.
We had the privilege of sitting down with Mohit to learn more about his artistic journey, the soul behind his work, and what truly inspires him to document love stories with such care and depth.
"Since childhood, I’ve always been drawn to colors, textures, and the world of art. Whether it was sketching, painting, or simply observing the play of light around me, I was naturally inclined toward creative expression."
Though Mohit pursued a Master’s degree in Computer Science, the call toward creativity never quieted. Photography became the perfect bridge between his analytical mind and artistic heart.
"Photography became that outlet for me. It satisfies a deep creative hunger — whether it’s experimenting with poses, playing with color tones, or composing images in unique landscapes around the world."
Over the years, that passion has evolved into a distinctive visual style admired by couples across continents.
Mohit’s photography style is a unique blend of fashion-forward composition and heartfelt storytelling.
"I’d describe my photography style as editorial meets emotion — where fashion-inspired elegance blends seamlessly with real, unscripted moments. My work is clean, timeless, and intentional."
Inspired by architecture, couture fashion, and cinematic light, Mohit brings a refined eye to every frame — while remaining anchored in capturing human connection.
"I love creating imagery that not only looks beautiful but also feels deeply personal and nostalgic years down the line."
From the grandeur of South Asian weddings to intimate destination elopements, his work balances sophistication with soul.
Mohit’s gear is top-tier, but it’s his eye and intuition that shape the final image.
"I’m a die-hard Canon shooter — I’ve always been drawn to the way Canon renders colors, especially skin tones. There’s a timeless richness and warmth to it that really aligns with the aesthetic I strive for in my work."
He also uses Sony gear on occasion, adapting to different conditions. But he’s quick to emphasize: "Great photography comes from understanding light, emotion, and timing — not just pressing a button."
In post-processing, Mohit brings the final artistic layer to his work — polished, yet authentic.
"My post-processing style is all about timeless elegance. I focus on clean, true-to-life colors with a bright and polished finish — nothing overly trendy or filtered."
He views editing as a way to preserve the atmosphere of the moment without overpowering it.
"Skin tones are natural, details are preserved, and every photo is edited with care to reflect the mood and emotion of the day while maintaining that editorial edge my clients love."
"What I enjoy most about being a photographer is the privilege of telling real stories — stories filled with emotion, tradition, connection, and legacy."
Mohit sees his role as both an artist and an observer. Every image is a study in love, culture, and detail.
"There’s also something deeply fulfilling about creating art that means something. I get to combine my love for fashion, culture, and visual storytelling in a way that’s both creative and emotionally meaningful."
With every wedding, he finds renewed inspiration in the uniqueness of each couple and celebration.
"For me, it all starts with listening."
Mohit invests time in getting to know his clients on a personal level — from their story to their priorities.
"I take the time to understand my clients — not just their vision, but who they are, what matters most to them, and how they want to feel when they look back at their wedding photos."
He walks alongside couples from planning to post-production, offering styling advice, timeline tips, and location recommendations.
"When clients feel at ease, the magic unfolds naturally."
That connection is foundational to his process.
"My couples trust me not only to document the big moments but to anticipate the in-between ones too — the ones they didn’t even know they’d want a photo of."
"Yes, I absolutely do destination weddings — in fact, they’re some of my favorite events to document."
Mohit has photographed weddings throughout Mexico, Italy, Turkey, the U.S., and of course, across Canada. Each location brings fresh light, culture, and energy.
"It’s hard to choose a favorite, but Italy holds a special place in my heart — the architecture, the light, the culture, and the effortless romance of every corner make it a dream to photograph."
Whether it’s a villa in Tuscany, a clifftop ceremony in Banff, or a sun-soaked beach in Los Cabos, Mohit tailors his approach to suit the spirit of the destination.
"Preparation makes a huge difference — not just in how the photos turn out, but in how confident and relaxed you feel in front of the camera."
Mohit shares these go-to tips with his couples:
Outfit styling matters – "Choose outfits that reflect your personality but also complement each other and your surroundings."
Be on time for the best light – "Lighting is everything in photography."
Focus on the feeling – "Don’t overthink the poses... be present, trust the process, and enjoy the moment together."
Trust your photographer – "Let go, have fun, and let the magic unfold naturally."
"One thing I always like to share is that for me, photography goes far beyond just delivering a gallery. It’s about building trust, creating a comfortable experience, and making my clients feel truly seen."
As a husband and father, Mohit now feels an even deeper connection to the importance of documenting legacy.
"I’ve come to appreciate even more how meaningful these moments are — not just for the couple, but for the generations that follow."
His goal? To create art that doesn’t just tell a story — but preserves it.
"If you’re a couple who values thoughtful storytelling, intentional details, and timeless elegance — we’ll be a great fit. I’d love to be a part of your story."
