I started photographing my friends and anyone that would let me about 11 years ago and haven’t looked back since.”

It's a visual language that draws from the dreamy aesthetics of film and the emotional pull of human connection. “Even in a digital-only gallery, I apply what I’ve learned from shooting film to maintain a flattering, natural aesthetic with accurate skin tones and soft, film-like colors.”
She’s known for creating galleries that feel seamless, elegant, and honest—whether she’s capturing a windswept elopement or a black-tie affair. “My goal is always to create timeless, true-to-life images that feel both beautiful and authentic.”
To bring her vision to life, Marissa mixes digital and analog equipment. Her digital arsenal includes the Sony a7IV and Fuji x100v, while her film kit features the Pentax 645Nii, Nikon F10, and even a Holga for moments that call for an artistic twist.
Her post-processing approach is equally intentional. “When shooting film, I aim to match it as closely as possible to my digital work for a seamless look.” Lightroom and Photoshop are her go-to tools to ensure each image is polished yet natural.
What sets Marissa apart is not just her art, but her approach. Her clients frequently rave about her calming presence and thoughtful planning. “My clients love my easy-going and reassuring personality, especially throughout the chaos of wedding days, and appreciate the way I create an effortless and organized bespoke wedding photography experience from beginning to end.”
It’s a philosophy rooted in empathy and genuine care. “I tailor each experience to my clients by taking the time to truly get to know them—whether that’s through engagement sessions, questionnaires, coffee dates, or simply meaningful conversations leading up to their wedding day.”
She believes that when couples feel understood and seen, the results speak for themselves. “Understanding their personalities, vision, and what matters most to them allows me to capture their story in a way that feels authentic and true to who they are.”
Beyond the beautiful images, Marissa shares that photography has changed her life in profound ways. “It has helped me grow into a more confident person—where I once was a bit shy, I now feel like I could strike up a conversation with just about anyone.”

Marissa’s tips for couples are grounded in making the experience as relaxed and joyful as possible. “The best photos happen when you feel comfortable and confident, so wear something that makes you feel great and allows your personality to shine!”
Her best piece of advice? “Enjoy the moment—whether it’s your wedding day, an engagement session, or any special event, soak it all in and have fun. When you’re truly present, the magic naturally follows.”
It’s no surprise that a creative soul like Marissa finds deep inspiration in new places. “Absolutely! Traveling for work is such a blessing, and I truly pinch myself every day.”
Though she’s excited about her upcoming trip to Aruba, it’s France that holds her heart. “If I had to choose a favorite destination, it would have to be France. I’m completely obsessed with all things French, and I’ll jump at any opportunity to go back.”
