For some, photography is a profession; for others, it is a calling. For the artistic director of Francioso Studios, it is a legacy. “Since the age of 7, I’ve grown up in the photography studio founded by my father, where I was immersed daily in the passion for this art. I began experimenting early on with analog photography, learning to work with film and developing a deep artistic and technical sensitivity.”
This early immersion led him to the IED in Milan, where he earned a degree as an advertising creative. His career took shape working as an assistant to renowned fashion photographers, refining his aesthetic vision. “Today, I am the artistic director of my photography studio, where I lead a team of photographers, videographers, and graphic designers. We have positioned ourselves in the luxury market through editorial wedding photography, combining elegance, creativity, and attention to detail.”
Francioso Studios has been part of the wedding industry since 2000. Over the years, the approach has evolved, yet one principle remains constant: telling love stories with authenticity and sophistication.
“A photographic style that I would describe as a fusion of elegance and authenticity, with a strong focus on details and genuine emotions. I love capturing spontaneous and intimate moments, highlighting both the beauty of the subjects and the unique atmosphere of the locations.”
Utilizing Canon’s advanced imaging technology, Francioso Studios creates breathtaking visuals. “My team and I love working with Canon, appreciating the remarkable depth of its colors and its outstanding focus performance. To create a photographic style that blends editorial and fashion elements, we alternate between natural light and advanced techniques with on-camera and off-camera flash.”
Blending natural light with advanced flash techniques, Francioso Studios achieves a balance between editorial and fashion-inspired imagery. “We favor fixed lenses, which allow us to achieve greater sharpness and enhanced depth of field, bringing out every detail in our images.”
Post-production is just as crucial as the shot itself. “The post-production process I follow is based on the careful selection and editing of each individual image, aiming to ensure consistency in tones and light-to-shadow balance. We have a particular fondness for black and white, which makes up about 15% of the final selection.”
For Francioso Studios, discretion is key. “What I love most about being a wedding photographer is the opportunity to tell the story of such a special day in an authentic and natural way, while ensuring that my presence and that of my team remain discreet. I enjoy blending in with the crowd, capturing every nuance and emotion—from the couple’s knowing smiles to tender gestures, like a grandmother wiping away tears of joy.”
Understanding a couple’s vision is integral to the process. “My approach is centered on understanding my clients' vision and preparing thoroughly to best capture their story. During the pre-wedding briefing, I take the time to get to know the couple, understand their expectations, and learn all the details of the day so that nothing is overlooked.”
Each couple is different, and their photography package should reflect that uniqueness. “ I believe it’s essential to customize the package to meet the specific needs of each couple, as every wedding and love story is unique. I work closely with my clients to understand their preferences and priorities, ensuring that the package is tailored to reflect their vision and capture their day in the best possible way.”
Choosing the right photographer is crucial. “I recommend that clients take the time to thoroughly research the photographer they choose, ensuring their style aligns with how they envision their wedding being documented.”
Attention to detail and timeline planning also make a significant difference. “Additionally, I suggest carefully considering the timeline of the day, including time for travel between locations and dedicated photo sessions, all while respecting the flow of the event and their guests' experience.”
Destination weddings provide an extraordinary opportunity to capture love in diverse and breathtaking settings. “Yes, I absolutely do destination weddings! I love traveling and have had the privilege of discovering many incredible places around the world.”
While there isn’t one favorite location, natural landscapes hold a special place. “While I don’t have a single favorite destination, I’m particularly drawn to locations with stunning natural landscapes and breathtaking views. There’s something truly magical about capturing love stories in the beauty of nature. Every destination brings its own unique charm, and I’m always excited to explore new places with my couples.”
