For Erin Roberts, photography has been a constant thread woven through her life, from childhood snapshots to capturing love stories. “I started when I was a kid with a Barbie camera cutting off my dolls’ heads, dropping my 110 film off at Walmart in hopes to get the perfect blurry shot.” What began as a playful fascination evolved over time into a deep love for storytelling through images.
By high school, her photography was fueled by the desire for the perfect emo profile picture for MySpace. But it wasn’t until she got married and had her first daughter that she found herself reaching for her camera at every opportunity. “I had friends asking if I could do their family photos, engagement photos, etc.” Then came a pivotal moment—an elopement shoot at the Neon Museum in Las Vegas. The images were so captivating that Rock N Roll Bride featured them, and designer Chauntel Lauren showcased her work. “It just took off from there, and I grew to fall absolutely in love with elopements.”
When asked about her photography style, Erin describes it as, “Fun, exciting, a box of chocolates—you never know what you’re going to get.” She thrives on spontaneity, capturing candid emotions, and bringing out the unique energy of each couple she works with.
Her toolkit reflects her eclectic approach to photography. “I’m a gal of a plethora of cameras. I am currently shooting on a Canon EOS V1, Polaroids, Contax G2, Canon R6 Mark II, Olympus Mju II, flashes of all kinds.” Whether digital or film, she embraces different mediums to create a diverse and compelling collection of images.
For Erin, photography is more than just a job—it’s a way to connect with people and document the magic of real moments. “I feel like with photography I can be myself. I’ve always been that weird kid who wanted to be a comedian, so I get to have fun with my clients, and I get to witness one of the best days of their lives. Being a part of that makes me all warm and fuzzy inside, and they’ll have that forever.”
She believes the best photos come from authenticity. “I love how raw photography can be. You can capture all kinds of emotions in one day. You witness people’s vows to each other and realize there’s still some real good in the world.”
Working with Erin is an experience in itself. Her goal is simple: “I want my clients to have a damn good time. I want them to be themselves. I want them to come out of our time together saying, ‘WOW THAT WAS SO EASY AND FUN.’”
She also customizes her approach to fit each couple’s needs. “Oh yes, certainly!!” she says when asked if she can tailor packages to meet specific requirements.
When reflecting on her journey, Erin has one major piece of advice for those starting out: “Do a business class. Photography is 20% shooting/editing, 80% business.” She also encourages photographers to push past self-doubt. “Don’t doubt yourself, everyone will have imposter syndrome eventually, but don’t let it get to you.”
For couples preparing for their big day, Erin has one main tip: “Please, PLEASE, have fun. Trust your photographer, always be in the moment.”
While she’s based in Las Vegas, Erin has a long list of dream locations she hopes to shoot in. “I want to! I’ve been dying to shoot at the Madonna Inn, Santa Barbara, Iceland, Paris, New York, the list goes on.”
With her adventurous spirit, keen eye for detail, and passion for capturing love in its purest form, Erin Roberts continues to weave magic through her lens—one unforgettable moment at a time.
