Some stories are not written — they are felt. In fleeting glances, quiet emotions, and moments that pass almost unnoticed.

For Sneha Naravade, founder and creative director of Seven Mantra Films, photography is about holding onto exactly those moments — the ones that might otherwise disappear.

“My journey into photography began with a fascination for storytelling — the idea that a single frame could hold emotion, culture, and memory all at once.”

What started as curiosity quickly became something more immersive, something lived.

A Journey Rooted in Celebration

Long before Seven Mantra Films was founded, Sneha was already surrounded by the world of weddings — not as an observer, but as a participant in their creation.

“I started working in the world of luxury weddings at the age of 21, being part of some of the grandest celebrations in India alongside renowned designers such as Manish Malhotra.”

Over time, this exposure shaped not only her aesthetic, but her understanding of what weddings truly represent.

“Over the past decade, I’ve been part of more than 500 weddings as a wedding designer and photographer.”

Her work today reflects this dual perspective — combining the sensitivity of a storyteller with the structure of a designer.

Building Seven Mantra Films

Five years ago, Sneha brought her vision into focus by founding her own studio.

“Five years ago, I founded Seven Mantra Films to bring together a team dedicated to cinematic wedding storytelling.”

Since then, the studio has grown into a name associated with large-scale celebrations and deeply personal narratives alike.

“Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of documenting more than 500 weddings, working with couples from all walks of life—from celebrities and sports personalities to political families and entrepreneurs.”

And yet, despite the scale, the meaning remains personal.

“Many of the couples I’ve worked with have also become lifelong friends, which is something I truly value beyond the work itself.”

Where Documentary Meets Editorial

Sneha’s style exists at a unique intersection — where natural storytelling meets visual refinement.

My style sits at the intersection of documentary storytelling and editorial aesthetics.

She is drawn to the moments that cannot be planned — the ones that unfold quietly, without interruption.

“I’m drawn to natural, unscripted moments the quiet glances, the laughter, the emotions that unfold organically during a wedding.”

At the same time, every frame is approached with intention.

“I approach each frame with a strong sense of composition, light, and visual storytelling, which gives the photographs a refined, cinematic quality.”

The result is a body of work that feels both emotional and elevated.

“The goal is to create images that feel emotionally honest yet visually timeless.”

Tools That Support the Story

Behind the visual language is a carefully chosen set of tools — not to control the moment, but to support it.

“I primarily work with professional Canon full-frame camera systems paired with a range of prime and zoom lenses that allow flexibility in both intimate moments and large-scale wedding environments.”

Adaptability is essential, especially in the unpredictable rhythm of a wedding day.

“My equipment is chosen to perform exceptionally well in dynamic lighting conditions, which is essential for weddings.”

For larger productions, the storytelling expands beyond still imagery.

“For larger productions, our team also incorporates drones, stabilisation systems, and professional lighting setups to ensure a seamless blend of documentary coverage and cinematic storytelling.”

Refining, Not Recreating

For Sneha, post-processing is not about altering reality, but enhancing what was already there.

“My post-processing focuses on enhancing the natural emotion and atmosphere of each moment while maintaining a timeless aesthetic.”

Every detail is approached with care and restraint.

“I typically work on colour correction, tonal balance, and subtle retouching to ensure the images feel polished yet authentic.”

Consistency plays a key role in maintaining the identity of each story.

“At Seven Mantra Films, we follow a carefully developed colour workflow to maintain consistency across every wedding story.”

And ultimately, the intention remains clear.

“The goal is never to over-edit, but to refine the light, colours, and mood so the photographs feel cinematic, natural, and true to the moment.”

Preserving What Cannot Be Repeated

At the core of her work is something deeply human — the understanding that these moments will never happen again.

“What I love most about being a photographer is the ability to preserve moments that will never happen again.”

Weddings, in particular, carry a unique emotional weight.

“Weddings are filled with emotions — a parent’s quiet tears, the nervous excitement before walking down the aisle, the joy of two families coming together.”

And being trusted with that responsibility is something she never takes lightly.

“Being trusted to capture those once-in-a-lifetime moments is something I never take for granted.”

Because what is created goes far beyond the present.

“For me, it’s deeply meaningful to know that the photographs we create will become part of a family’s history — images that couples, their children, and even future generations will look back on.”

From Lehenga to Lens

Sneha often describes her journey in a way that captures both its simplicity and depth.

I often say I went from lehenga to lens.

It reflects not just a career shift, but a deeper connection to the world she documents.

“Weddings were always part of my world, the emotions, the rituals, and the quiet moments shared between families.”

And over time, that connection evolved into something intentional.

“I realised I didn’t just want to witness these stories, I wanted to preserve them.”

An Intuitive Approach to Every Wedding

This personal perspective shapes how she works with every couple.

“I approach each wedding not simply as an event to document, but as a living narrative unfolding in real time.”

Understanding comes before creation.

“Before the celebrations begin, I spend time understanding the couple, their personalities, their story, and the atmosphere they want their wedding to hold.”

On the day itself, everything is about presence and awareness.

“My team and I work with an intuitive and unobtrusive approach, allowing moments to unfold naturally while staying deeply attentive to emotion and detail.”

Because the most powerful images are rarely staged.

“The most powerful photographs are rarely staged. They exist in the in between moments, a fleeting glance, a nervous smile, a parent quietly taking it all in.”

And even after the wedding ends, the storytelling continues.

“Every image and film is carefully curated so the final body of work feels cinematic, refined, and timeless while still remaining true to the authenticity of the day.”

A Personalized Experience for Every Couple

No two weddings are the same — and Sneha’s approach reflects that fully.

“We actually prefer working closely with couples to create custom packages tailored specifically to their wedding.”

Every detail is shaped around the couple’s vision.

“During the consultation process, we discuss the couple’s priorities, the number of events, the style of documentation they prefer, and any special moments they want us to focus on.”

This allows for a more meaningful and intentional experience.

“This approach allows us to deliver a more thoughtful and meaningful experience rather than fitting a wedding into a fixed template.”

Staying True in a Changing Industry

Looking back, her advice to herself is rooted in patience and perspective.

“I would remind myself to trust the journey and stay patient with the process.”

Because growth is not something that can be rushed.

“Building a creative business takes time, and it’s easy in the beginning to compare your work, your growth, or your pace with others.”

What matters most is staying aligned with your own voice.

“But the most meaningful progress happens when you stay focused on developing your own voice and perspective.”

And investing in what truly matters.

“I would also tell myself to invest not only in equipment, but in relationships and storytelling.”

Letting the Day Unfold Naturally

For couples preparing for their wedding, her advice is simple — and often overlooked.

“My biggest recommendation to couples is to trust the process and allow the day to unfold naturally.”

Because the most meaningful moments cannot be forced.

“The most beautiful photographs come from genuine emotion and unscripted moments.”

At the same time, thoughtful planning helps create space for those moments to happen.

“Having a well-planned timeline with some breathing room also helps ensure everything flows smoothly.”

Stories Across Destinations

Travel continues to play a significant role in her work, adding new layers to each story.

“Yes, we absolutely do destination weddings, and they are some of our favorite celebrations to document.”

Certain places, however, carry a particular sense of inspiration.

Italy has an effortlessly romantic aesthetic with its historic villas, countryside landscapes, and timeless architecture.

While others offer something entirely different.

“Edinburgh, on the other hand, has a very dramatic and cinematic charm with its castles, old stone streets, and moody skies.”

Together, these environments become part of the story itself.

“Destinations like these allow us to blend storytelling with the character of the place, making the wedding imagery feel both personal and visually unforgettable.”

In the world of Seven Mantra Films, photography is not just about what is seen — but what is felt.

A fleeting moment, carefully observed. A story, quietly preserved. A memory, made timeless.
