Adriana Morais Photography isn't just capturing weddings; she's creating visual poetry. This Fine Arts graduate has been professionally immortalizing love stories since 2012, but her journey with photography began much earlier. As she puts it, "I think my whole life, but professionally since 2012." Her unique perspective as a feminist, queer, and neurodivergent individual infuses her work with a distinctive flavor.
Morais's approach to wedding photography is far from conventional. She describes her style as "poetical, timeless digital and film images with an editorial eye and a documentary approach." This blend of artistic vision and journalistic instinct results in images that are both beautiful and authentic.
Her post-processing further enhances this unique style. "Natural colors, timeless black and white, and a film look with a lot of grain!" she enthusiastically shares. This technique gives her images a timeless quality, evoking nostalgia while remaining contemporary.
Despite her artistic flair, Morais keeps her equipment simple and unobtrusive. "Light, easy, and discreet," she says of her gear. "Sony, 50mm and 35mm, a point and shoot film camera and flash." This minimalist approach allows her to move freely and capture candid moments without disrupting the natural flow of the wedding.
Morais believes in the power of preparation and communication. "Yes! I love to talk and giving tips," she enthuses when asked if she has recommendations for clients preparing for a photo shoot or event. This collaborative approach ensures that couples are comfortable and prepared, resulting in more authentic and intimate photographs.
For Morais, wedding photography is more than just a job—it's a passion. When asked what she enjoys most about being a photographer, she responds, "Celebrate love! Being present on such a beautiful day and my eyes being the visual memories of that day."
This deep appreciation for love and connection is evident in her approach to working with clients. "Two fundamental things for me are making a connection with the couple and respect their identity," she explains. "I want to capture the most authentic and intimate version of them."
Morais takes a quality-over-quantity approach to her work. When asked about her comfortable wedding count per year, she states, "Between 10 and 12." This limited number allows her to give each couple her full attention and artistic energy.
Her coverage is comprehensive, typically ranging from "8 to 10 hours for weddings and 4 hours for elopements." This ensures she can capture the full story of the day, from preparation to celebration.
Quality artistry comes at a price, and Morais is transparent about her rates. "6800€ with engagement session and 35mm FILM photos," she quotes as her minimum starting price for 10 hours of coverage. However, she's also flexible, adding, "Yes!" when asked if she can create custom packages to meet specific needs.
Morais's artistic vision isn't confined by borders. She eagerly takes on destination weddings, with a particular fondness for one romantic locale. When asked about her favorite destination, she responds without hesitation: "Yes, Italy <3" The picturesque landscapes and rich cultural heritage of Italy provide the perfect backdrop for Morais's poetic style, allowing her to blend local charm with universal themes of love and commitment.
In a world where wedding photography often feels formulaic, Adriana Morais Photography stands out as a true artist. She doesn't just take pictures; she creates visual heirlooms that capture the essence of each couple's unique love story. With her feminist perspective, artistic vision, and genuine passion for celebrating love in all its forms, Morais is redefining what wedding photography can be—one intimate, grain-filled frame at a time.
