There are those who take photographs and those who capture souls. For Risham Jaiswal, the founder and lead photographer at The Photo Store, wedding photography is more than an art — it’s a deeply personal journey. From growing up around his father’s photography shop to documenting luxury destination weddings, Risham’s path is one of emotion, elegance, and enduring legacy.

“Destiny had its own plan — and it led me right back to where I truly belong: telling love stories through photography.”

A Legacy Born in a Darkroom

Risham’s first brush with photography began in 9th grade. While other kids were playing video games or riding bikes, he was curiously observing the controlled chaos of his father’s photography store. “What started as a casual curiosity quickly turned into a passion for capturing stories, emotions, and timeless moments through the camera,” he recalls.

Though he pursued other career paths after graduation, the magnetic pull of storytelling through imagery eventually drew him back. In 2017, he founded The Photo Store with a simple, heartfelt mission: to capture the essence of love.

A Signature Style: Where Fine Art Meets Editorial Elegance

When asked to define his approach, Risham confidently describes his style as "fine art & editorial."

He elaborates, “Every frame we create is built on emotion, artistry, and connection. We strive to offer imagery that is both timeless and stylish, where every detail tells a story.”

His toolkit of choice? A Canon R3 paired with a 28-70mm f/2.0 and a selection of multiple prime lenses. This gear empowers his artistic vision and gives him the freedom to adapt to any environment without losing clarity or depth.

Enhancing the Real: The Philosophy Behind Post-Processing

Post-production is often where a photographer’s ethos shines through, and Risham is no exception. At The Photo Store, the editing process is carefully tailored to emphasize authenticity.

“Our post-processing workflow is designed to enhance the natural beauty, emotion, and storytelling of every image.”

Using advanced tools like Photoshop AI, Risham removes unwanted distractions without compromising the organic feel of the moment. The result? Clean, refined images that never look artificial.

The Power of Presence: What Photography Means to Him

What truly fuels Risham’s passion after nearly a decade in the industry is the magic of human connection.

“The ability to freeze real, fleeting moments into timeless memories — that’s what I enjoy most. It’s not just about taking pictures. It’s about observing, anticipating, and feeling every moment as it unfolds.”

It’s in the soft moments: a bride’s nervous breath before walking down the aisle, a parent’s quiet tears, or a burst of laughter during the reception.

Collaboration is Key: Working with Clients

Risham’s collaborative approach sets him apart. Each client is a co-creator in the story being told. From the very first consultation, he places immense importance on understanding the couple’s cultural backgrounds, personal quirks, and wedding vision.

“Great photos come from great trust.”

His process includes:

  • Personalized consultations to understand preferences

  • Visual planning and mood boards

  • Timeline planning and light coordination

  • On-the-day flexibility and intuitive direction

  • Regular updates and preview delivery to ensure alignment

He emphasizes empathy, transparency, and consistency throughout.

Every wedding is different, and The Photo Store reflects that in their offerings.

“Yes, we absolutely create custom packages. We understand that every couple has unique needs, and we’re happy to tailor our services accordingly,” Risham affirms.

Whether it’s an elopement, a multi-day celebration, or a cross-cultural ceremony, the experience is fully customizable.

Before the Click: Expert Tips to Prepare for a Shoot

Risham is full of insight when it comes to preparing for a successful shoot. His advice is equal parts practical and soulful:

  • Communicate your vision: “Share reference photos, inspiration, or anything you love. It helps us align creatively.”

  • Outfit wisely: Choose outfits that reflect who you are and make you feel good.

  • Sleep and hydrate: These two elements work magic on skin and energy levels.

  • Be present: “Sometimes the best photos happen in between the planned shots.”

  • Be on time: Natural light doesn’t wait.

  • Pack essentials: Lip balm, blotting paper, tissues — little things matter.

  • Make it meaningful: Include a sentimental item or location for extra depth.

Destination Dreams: Around the World with The Photo Store

Risham lights up when talking about destination weddings. “Absolutely, yes — we love capturing destination weddings!”

One of his all-time favorites? Lake Como, Italy. “The elegant villas, serene waters, and breathtaking scenery offer the perfect backdrop for timeless, romantic wedding imagery.”

Whether it’s a royal palace in Rajasthan, a sun-drenched beach in Thailand, or a rustic vineyard in Tuscany, Risham and his team are always ready to travel.

Capturing Emotion, Not Just Images

As we wrap our conversation, Risham shares something deeply resonant:

“One thing we truly believe in — and perhaps don’t talk about enough — is the power of emotional connection in photography.”

His team doesn’t just show up to document a day. They show up to feel it, to breathe it in, to anticipate the moments before they happen. “We’re not just documenting weddings; we’re preserving legacies.”

“We treat every wedding not just as an assignment, but as a chapter of someone’s life that deserves to be told beautifully — with soul, style, and sincerity.”

And that is exactly what The Photo Store does. Frame by frame, memory by memory, with heart in every click.
