Step into the visual world of Anna Panutsa, where wedding photography takes on an evocative, editorial edge. With roots in Saint Petersburg and a career shaped by cities like Paris, Tokyo, and New York, Anna has redefined what it means to document love — blending the soul of documentary storytelling with the stylized flair of a fashion shoot. In this exclusive Wezoree interview, Anna invites us behind her lens to explore how emotion, elegance, and intention converge in every image she creates.
From a teenager captivated by natural light to a sought-after photographer with a Vogue-inspired style, Anna Panutsa’s path into the wedding industry was anything but ordinary.
“I’m Anna Panutsa — a wedding photographer based between New York and Los Angeles, with a style that blends fashion-forward storytelling and emotive documentary,” she shares. “My journey began in Saint Petersburg, Russia, where I first picked up a camera as a teenager with a love for visual arts and natural light.”
Her eye sharpened across continents — with Paris refining her taste for elegance, Tokyo for precision, and Germany for mood and composition. Before finding her true calling in weddings, Anna honed her skills in the fashion world. That experience still echoes throughout her work today.
What sets Anna apart is her rare ability to capture emotional depth while preserving the grace of high fashion.
“My photography style is editorial, evocative, and deeply intentional,” she explains. “I aim to strike a balance between refined composition and raw feeling — capturing moments as they unfold, but with an elevated, fashion-forward lens.”
She describes her signature duality as “Vogue-inspired imagery layered with intimacy, movement, and depth.” Whether she’s using flash to sculpt a dramatic silhouette or chasing golden light during a couple’s quiet walk, Anna crafts imagery that’s timeless yet full of life.
Anna's process begins with connection — not just to the couple, but to their story, their style, and the emotions of the day.
“I begin by getting to know my clients beyond just their wedding plans — understanding their personalities, what they value, and how they want the day to feel,” she says. “Whether it’s offering styling input or providing subtle posing guidance on the day, my approach is calm, intuitive, and intentional.”
Clients often praise her collaborative style, as Anna weaves herself gently into the rhythm of the day, blending direction with documentary. The result? A body of work that looks as good as it feels — curated yet authentic, refined yet full of warmth.
While artistry drives her vision, Anna’s attention to detail extends into her toolkit.
“I use all-Canon brand equipment for my digital photography, and love using Contax, Canon EOS and Olympus systems for my film,” she notes. “My favorite film stocks are Portra 400 and Fuji 400!”
With this hybrid approach, she layers the crisp clarity of digital with the creamy tones of analog film — producing work that’s as rich in texture as it is in emotion.
Anna’s editorial eye doesn’t end once the shutter clicks. Her post-processing is guided by purpose, not passing filters.
“Every image I deliver is carefully edited by hand — with a focus on enhancing tone, color, and light in a way that feels timeless and true to the moment, while staying on-brand in terms of colors,” she explains. “I don’t rely on trends — instead, I aim for an editorial finish that brings out the elegance, emotion, and nuance of the day.”
This attention to consistency and mood ensures that each gallery tells a visual story — one that will age gracefully and remain meaningful for decades to come.
“What I love most is the privilege of preserving emotion in its most honest, fleeting form — and doing so in a way that feels artful and intentional, as well as deeply personal,” Anna reflects.
From whispered vows to electric dance floors, she’s drawn to the unscripted moments — the kind that say more than words ever could.
“Weddings give me the opportunity to document not just beauty and design, but connection, movement, and story.”
Anna’s approach to bookings is just as thoughtful as her photography. She believes every love story deserves a custom experience.
“Yes — I believe every celebration is unique, and the photography experience should reflect that,” she says. “Whether it’s a multi-day destination weekend or a more intimate affair, I’m happy to create a custom package that feels intentional, seamless, and aligned with what matters most to them.”
She often collaborates with planners and couples to fine-tune every detail — from hours of coverage to pre-wedding shoots and fashion-forward portraits. With Anna, no two galleries — or client experiences — are ever the same.
In a sea of sameness, Anna Panutsa stands out. Her work is cinematic yet heartfelt, editorial yet intimate. But more than anything, it’s deeply personal.
Through her lens, each wedding becomes more than just a day — it becomes a beautifully told visual legacy.
