She began photographing “anyone and everything” — and the first wedding she shot sealed her fate. “It was love at first sight. I knew that’s what I wanted to do for the rest of my life,” she says with a smile.
Anna describes her photography style as “natural and detail-oriented with a bit of editorial and documentary thrown in.” Her goal is simple yet profound: to craft photos that “truly do each day justice.” With every shutter click, she’s thinking about future generations flipping through those albums — just as she did as a child — rediscovering the joy, the laughter, and the tears of a wedding day.
When it comes to gear, Anna relies on her trusted Nikon equipment. Her editing process stays true to her philosophy: “A light edit to ensure that all the colors are looking just like they did on the wedding day — and then the removal of any distractions so that the couple really stands out.”
Beyond the technical craft, what Anna cherishes most is the human element. “The personal connection I get to have with my couples — that’s what I enjoy most,” she shares. “Weddings are so unique. You get welcomed into the most intimate of moments so that they can remember their day better. It’s such an honor!”
This deep care is evident from the first meeting. Anna invests time to understand what matters most to each couple. “From the initial meeting before booking up to the wedding day, I’m working alongside my couples to learn what values they hold and what’s important to them on their day,” she explains.
She’s also more than happy to tailor packages to fit each couple’s unique needs — a flexibility that couples deeply appreciate.
For couples preparing for a wedding shoot, Anna’s advice is refreshingly simple: “Just have fun and be in love. I’ll take care of the rest!” She believes clear communication before the big day makes everything “easy breezy” when it matters most.
Reflecting on her own journey, Anna shares what she would tell her younger self: “Trust your gut, keep learning, and remember that genuine connection will always outshine perfection.”
While Anna primarily captures love stories in Des Moines, Omaha, and Kansas City, a piece of her heart is always drawn to Charleston, South Carolina. “Charleston SC has been a favorite too!” she beams.
