At the helm is a seasoned artist with a Master of Fine Art in Photography & Graphic Design, someone who has been holding a camera for nearly 20 years. Since launching Amative Creative in 2015, the studio has blossomed into a powerhouse team of 20+ creatives, each contributing their own unique lens—literally and figuratively—to an ever-growing body of work.
“We don’t believe in a single style,” the founder explains. “Our style embodies the vision and goals of our clients. One weekend we can be bright and airy, the next weekend dark and moody. On Saturday, we can be documentary and candid in our approach, and on Sunday capture the day with editorial posing and dramatic energy.”
This commitment to authenticity is more than an artistic preference—it’s a guiding principle. “Authenticity is our passion, and that comes through in every wedding style we offer.”
With nearly two decades behind the lens, photography isn’t just second nature—it’s a language fluently spoken. What began with a love for visuals evolved into a career grounded in storytelling, artistry, and an appreciation for the freedom that comes with creative entrepreneurship.
“The freedom it gives me as a creative and business owner, and being able to celebrate with countless families on one of the most important days of their life.” That’s what drives the Amative team to keep evolving, keep exploring, and never approach a wedding as just another assignment.
When it comes to gear, Amative Creative is selective—choosing tools that allow for precision and creativity in equal measure.
“I personally use Canon R5’s and the Hasselblad X2D.” This dynamic duo of speed and clarity ensures that every fleeting smile and dramatic landscape is captured at its finest.
Post-processing is just as thoughtfully handled. “A variety of things including Lightroom, Photoshop, and Aftershoot” come into play, ensuring that every image is polished without losing its natural emotion.
In an industry where templated packages often fall short of real-life needs, Amative Creative takes a refreshingly personal approach.
“I have a personalized approach, consult calls, and client questionnaires to determine their style and editing preferences.” These conversations don’t just build trust—they shape the final product. And when it comes to customization, flexibility is a given: “Absolutely! We do this very frequently.”
Couples often ask: how should we prepare for a shoot? What makes the biggest difference?
Amative Creative encourages couples to explore, dream, and ask questions.
“Look through websites for inspiration and decide what direction you want to go with your images. Look at all the different color styles and approaches that there are to photography, and understand that most photographers have a specific style they like to shoot in. Ask your photographer questions about their style and approach to make sure you are good fits for each other. (We customize things, but most photographers don't do this! So it's important to keep in mind.) Then think through the outfits you might want to wear, and the locations you might want to explore. Be sure to ask your photographer these questions also, because they will give you their personal recommendations based on their style and your location and time of year!”
