Abby Rose Photography is more than just a wedding photographer—she's a St. Louis native with a deep appreciation for the city that shaped her and a passion for documenting life's most meaningful moments. In her own words, "I truly love my city and find so much joy in connecting with other local talented creatives." This connection to her roots, along with her genuine love for why and how we gather to celebrate, forms the foundation of her photography career, which began in 2016.

When asked to describe her style, Abby sums it up beautifully: “To me, photography is all about showcasing life in an artful way, how you live and love, preserved forever.” For Abby, photography isn’t just about the big moments; it’s about capturing the spark that lingers in the seemingly ordinary. “It’s more than just special moments,” she explains. “It’s the antidote to the rapid pace of life we all live. As a photographer, I focus on the moments that already have the glimmer of nostalgia, the moments we want to relive as soon as they’re over. That’s where the spark lies, right? My ultimate goal is to create work that is a photographic celebration of love and life.”

Abby’s Equipment and Process

When it comes to the technical side of things, Abby strikes a balance between modern and classic techniques. “I shoot mainly on digital cameras,” she shares, “and shoot film creatively as I see fit.”

Her signature approach centers around authenticity. Abby’s work is known for being clean, true to color, and inspired by the timeless look of film photography. “My edits are true to color and film-inspired,” she notes. “I like my photos to have a clean look, so I’m big on editing out distracting background elements that take focus away from my subject.”

Building Lasting Relationships with Clients

For Abby, photography isn’t just about snapping pictures—it’s about forming lasting connections with her clients. “Above all, I love getting to know my couples and all their loved ones,” she says. “My couples are driven by the ultimate goal of creating a life that is thoughtful, relational, and experience-soaked. Having the opportunity to create timeless art for them to keep and cherish forever will never get old to me.”

Before any wedding, Abby makes it a point to collaborate closely with the couple. “I view our time working together as a collaboration. Before a wedding, I always give my couples an opportunity to share with me any inspiration they have, and to walk me through what is most important to them.” Even though she shoots all weddings in her consistent, signature style, she customizes her approach to fit each couple’s unique story. “I shoot all weddings in my consistent, signature style, but each wedding is captured in a way that is custom-tailored to my couple and their exact priorities.”

A Limited, Exclusive Approach

Abby’s commitment to quality extends to the number of weddings she takes on each year. She limits herself to 10 to 15 weddings a year. That way, she can give each couple the time and attention they deserve. Her typical wedding coverage spans 8 to 11 hours, and she offers custom packages to meet the specific needs of each couple.

Abby is not just a local photographer—she’s a seasoned traveler who thrives on the beauty and excitement of destination weddings. “I LOVE shooting destination weddings,” she exclaims. “I adore the beautiful, laid-back atmosphere of California weddings.”

When she’s not photographing local events, you can find Abby capturing love stories in stunning, far-flung locations. From the golden beaches of California to wherever her couples’ hearts lead her, she brings her passion for storytelling and her love for connection to every destination wedding she shoots.

One piece of advice that Abby consistently shares with her couples is simple but powerful: “Trust your photographer.” For her, the best results come from a relationship built on trust and collaboration.
