Some careers are meticulously planned. Others arrive like a whisper — a quiet tug that becomes impossible to ignore.
Casa Selva never set out to become a florist. “My journey with flowers started nine years ago, completely by chance,” she shares. Trained in communications, she was working in PR at a restaurant when she offered to create floral arrangements for the tables — just for fun.
“I ended up loving the experience so much that I quit my job,” she recalls. That moment sparked a radical shift. She enrolled in floral courses, eager to understand what working with flowers really meant. “Soon after, I opened a flower shop where we still offer floral delivery in Mexico City.”
What began as an experiment turned into a calling. Today, her studio holds workshops in Mexico City and Los Cabos, and brings immersive floral artistry to weddings all across the country.
With time, passion, and practice — and, as Casa Selva humbly puts it, “a few mistakes along the way” — she took the leap into weddings.
“I believe my style and quality have evolved over time, shaped by experience and a deep curiosity to keep experimenting with new flowers and ideas,” she says.
Rather than following rules, Luisa relies on instinct and artistry. “What I love most about working with flowers is that there are no fixed rules when it comes to design — you can always take risks and try things out, whether they work or not.”
Her style? “A collection of experiments that have worked,” she smiles.
But the heart of her approach lies in one thing: emotional connection. “The most important lesson I’ve learned is that we’re working with one of the most meaningful and emotional days in a couple’s life — and we take that responsibility very seriously.”
Ask Casa Selva what fills her with joy, and she doesn’t hesitate. “The most rewarding part of this journey is truly enjoying the process itself.”
She treasures working with couples who come to her not just for pretty flowers, but for a shared creative vision. “Clients seek us out because they resonate with our style and are genuinely excited to see what we’ll create for them — that’s incredibly fulfilling.”
And nothing beats those final moments before the event begins. “The most exhilarating moment, without a doubt, is those 30 minutes before the event begins, when all the creative energy and ideas finally take shape in real life.”
Among the many weddings she’s designed, one holds a special place in her heart — a celebration in Guaymas, Sonora.
“The bride’s sister-in-law — who also happens to be a dear friend and a talented florist — was deeply involved from the very beginning,” Luisa explains. Before any formal planning began, the three women were already dreaming aloud about colors, textures, and moods.
“The synergy between the bride, the planner, and myself was truly inspiring. There was so much trust and creative freedom.”
Together, they created something layered, meaningful, and full of personality. “We had countless conversations where ideas flowed naturally — ‘What do you think about this?’ or ‘What if we tried that?’ It was the perfect example of what we hope for in every collaboration: mutual inspiration, creative freedom, and the shared goal of crafting something genuinely beautiful and personal.”
In an industry often driven by minimums, Casa Selva takes a more soulful approach.
“We like to stay open to all possibilities,” she says. “Sometimes we meet couples planning very small or simple weddings, but their moodboards are so beautiful and inspiring that we’d truly love to be part of them.”
What matters most isn’t the price tag — it’s the shared intention. “What excites us most is creating weddings that take your breath away — and we always try to find a way to adapt to each couple’s vision and budget, as long as we share the same passion for beauty and intention.”
Luisa’s design language is unafraid, expressive, and alive with movement. And it’s that fearless creativity that defines her signature touch.
“We love getting as bold and funky as possible,” she says. “We believe that in order to create a wedding that truly takes your breath away and surprises everyone, you have to do things that are unexpected — things no one’s seen before.”
For Casa Selva, embracing non-traditional elements is a must. “The only way to achieve that is by daring to use non-traditional elements, embracing the unusual, and letting creativity lead the way.”
Luisa isn’t overly focused on what’s trending. Instead, she builds her work around feeling, color, and surprise.
“I’m not sure if this qualifies as a trend, but our style leans toward bold, vibrant colors, rich textures, and irregular shapes,” she explains. “I love when each arrangement feels unique — I’m not interested in repeating the same formula over and over.”
For her, florals should feel expressive and organic — never templated.
There’s one flower Casa Selva simply can’t go without: the ranunculus.
“Ranunculus are an absolute must in all of my weddings,” she admits. “Whenever, for some reason, we don’t use them, I always feel like something’s missing.”
She describes them as delicate yet filled with character. “I find them to be such exquisite flowers.”
As someone who built her studio from the ground up, Luisa has one piece of advice for her past self and aspiring creatives: “Practice, practice, practice.”
Her journey wasn’t perfect — but it was hers. One rooted in play, experimentation, and the courage to follow curiosity. “It’s how I found my voice,” she says.
Every arrangement Luisa touches is a living moment — layered in meaning, shaped by emotion, and crafted with fearless intention. From that first restaurant arrangement to immersive weddings across Mexico, her work reminds us that flowers, when handled with love and vision, become so much more than decor.
They become part of the memory.
