Jenny Jean Photography's journey into the realm of photography is a tale of transformation and passion. "I've been doing photography full time for 7 years (since I've become a mother) but before that, I was a Social Worker," Jenny recalls. Her decision to leave her office job wasn't made lightly. "I left my office job to pursue photography full-time and haven't looked back since. I specialize in film photography and currently teach photographers in my market about incorporating film into their workflow. I have educational resources on my website and also do 1:1 mentorships."

Jenny's approach to photography is deeply rooted in her love for film. There's something magical about it, right? It's not just about capturing an image; it's about capturing a feeling, a moment suspended in time.

Photography Style and Technique

Describing her style, Jenny says her works are "connection-based imagery focused on beauty + elegance."

Her tools of the trade are an eclectic mix. "Medium format film, 35mm film, Nikon digital cameras x 2”. It's like having the best of both worlds – the authenticity of film and the versatility of digital. Her post-processing is a blend of art and science. "The Canadian Film Lab scans my film images, and I use Heirloom Profiles to match my digital/film."

Working with Clients

Jenny's philosophy in working with clients is built on two pillars: communication and kindness. "I love hearing about their vision during the initial consultation process, and seeing design boards, floral orders, etc," she shares. ". I also work as a weddings + events communications lead at a floral studio in my city so I'm lucky enough to be involved and knowledgeable in floral design well. I think this compliments my photo clients as I can be a resource for both! I believe photos + florals elevate every wedding and are worth investing in!"

“Connecting with couples, building relationships, and the CREATIVITY I get to utilize to bring their love story to life through my artistry,” is what fuels Jenny’s heart. She continues, “No one will ever see the world the same way you do, and I'm so grateful that my clients trust me to portray their love in a way that they can treasure as keepsakes forever.”

Global Adventures

Jenny's passion for photography has taken her across the globe. "I love traveling for work. I've shot weddings at the iconic Haiku Mill in Maui Hawaii, and have photographed anniversary sessions in Santorini, Greece. I also explore the Rocky Mountains with couples for cherished events, with my work spanning over multiple provinces, territories, and states such as the Yukon, British Columbia, Alberta, and Denver," she reflects on her favorite destinations with a sparkle in her eye. "I look forward to adding many more destinations to my portfolio soon!"
