"Honest, Considered, Balanced," Teneil explains, her words carrying the weight of a lifetime of dedication. She’s not interested in creating illusions or distorting reality. Her goal is to capture the truth, the raw emotion, and the genuine connections that define each moment. Teneil’s approach is a delicate dance between art and authenticity, a symphonic fusion of technical prowess and emotional resonance.

Teneil's mastery extends beyond her artistic vision; it is also evident in her command of the tools of her craft. "I love to shoot a mix of film and digital," she says, her eyes sparkling with enthusiasm. "If it's a fun but short on time kind of day I will be sure to have some 35mm point-and-shoot cameras. If it's a slow-paced elopement a medium format camera will come along for the day but my digital cameras are there for the majority of my work due to the fast-paced, unpredictable nature of a wedding day but more so the expectations clients can have of having everything captured."

Timeless Beauty

Teneil's approach to post-processing is a testament to her commitment to preserving the integrity of the moment. "My post-processing is about taking a raw image and adding back the colour, contrast, saturation, etc that was true to my eye on the day," she explains. "Nothing more, it's important to keep editing timeless, I don't want to images to be about me, I want them to reflect life, the day, the colours they chose, etc."

Her philosophy is rooted in a profound respect for the ephemeral nature of time and the fleeting beauty of each moment. "Knowing that a memory, feeling, scent, place, person or experience can live on through a photograph is one of the most enjoyable feelings you can experience from being a photographer."

A Collaborative Journey

For Teneil, each wedding is a collaborative journey, a dance between her artistic vision and the couple's desires. "I always ask the couple, how do you want to feel on the day and a timeline is built from there," she explains. "The couple may tell me they want to spend as much time with their friends and family and I might suggest speeches of bridal party after the ceremony and during congratulations and save their couple portraits for later when the sunsets, while guests are being seated and making them feel relaxed so they don't feel everyone is missing them."

Her approach is tailored, flexible, and deeply personal. "If the timeline is done well and suited to the couple, they will feel the way they envisioned and if adequate time is alloted they will feel relaxed regardless of what happens on the day. The photos then come from the way everyone is feeling, it's that easy!"

A Life's Work

As the sun sets on another unforgettable day, Teneil's work stands as a testament to the power of photography to transcend time and space. Her images are not mere snapshots but visceral portals, transporting viewers to the very heart of the moment, evoking the sights, sounds, and emotions that defined it.

"My only recommendation is wear what makes you feel comfortable," she says, her voice carrying the weight of a lifetime's worth of wisdom. "Once again if you feel good you will enjoy yourself and if you are less worried about what you see and more what you feel that feeling will come through in the photos."

Teneil's artistry knows no boundaries, as she has been commissioned to photograph weddings throughout Europe, the USA, Asia, New Zealand, and Australia. "Each destination is a favorite for different reasons," she muses. "Every location brings unique cultures, environments, and opportunities for a fresh perspective, allowing me to approach each love story with a sense of wonder and discovery."

A Tailored Experience

For Teneil, each wedding is a unique artistic endeavor, deserving of a personalized approach. "Each year I slow it down," she shares. "I wanted to get down to 25 but COVID had other plans. I'm now looking to reduce it even further and will likely only consider 10 as I move into a more mentoring role for other photographers."

Her commitment to quality over quantity is unwavering, reflected in the dedication she brings to each event. "Typically 6-10 hours," Teneil explains, "However I have shot many 19-hour days over the span of my career." Teneil's pricing philosophy is refreshingly transparent and tailored to each couple's unique needs. "My pricing is ala carte so it isn't based just on hours," she clarifies. "But to provide a figure approximately 10K."

What truly sets Teneil apart, however, is her unwavering commitment to collaboration and personalization. "I have never in my 15 years in business used a package pricing model," she affirms. "My approach is always considered with everything I provide to the couple."

For those seeking a photographer who can capture the essence of their love story with uncompromising authenticity and artistry, Teneil Kable is an undeniable choice. Her work is a masterclass in honesty, passion, and the pursuit of preserving life's most precious moments in their purest form.
